Is there a thread discussing this problem and most common diagnosis ? Is my ignition switch faulty?

after a nice couple hour drive this morning, I get home and turn off the car…. It keeps running. I stall it to stop the engine but the dashboard lights stay on. Key out of the barrel and in my hand but car acts as if it was in position II

The electric switch on the back of the ignition lock breaks internally. It can be purchased as a separate part.
Just be sure you get a German switch and not the Chinese knock off.
