A locksmith will be able to manipulate the rods...........if............you can possibly provide him or her with an illustration, from say a parts manual or service manual, that shows the inner door locking/opening components, along with where they are positioned with in the door panel. Or very possibly maybe a "helpful" owner of an F car such as yours, that has maybe a door disassembled, can take a pix so your locksmith will have a "map" of sorts to guide his "break in"! Good luck, Kerry
Funny you say that because on the older Lotus Esprit's if you are locked out of your truck that is one way they say to get in. Cutting a hole behind the lic plate. I pray every night that my truck cable stays intact.
The Virginia law is the exception, rather than the rule out there (I am unaware of any other state with a similar law) http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+18.2-94 But the bottom line, is have you EVER heard of any private citizen who was NOT a criminal prosecuted under such a law? Doubt it, I wouldn't worry too much about it. What law enforcement agency is even going to know you have such tools unless you go around broadcasting it...
There is such a law in Ca as having burgler tools and it gets used for people like burglers out on parole. If you or I got picked up for it not only would it get laughed right out of the DA's office we would probably have a case against the police.
That's a good result: the law gets used against the bad guys but not against ordinary citizens... ...but... ...it shows a complete lack of legal theory on the part of California's legislators (not surprising because most legislators are uneducated morons who know how to do little more than run their mouths) because that sort of situation establishes a bad precedent of selective enforcement of the same law, applied differently to different classes of people.
Maybe VA is just "picky"!!! I missed all the comments in this thread! Very well done, Martin, and, yes that's my "tip"!
E.g.: Who gets to define who are "bad guys"? Those with more money? Those with Ferraris? But the more common application is "dueling legislation": It's not that we don't have a law to cover it, we have dozens -- often contradictory. So it's just a matter of which one(s) they decide to apply to a given individual. That's the formula for arbitrary persecution. Arbitrary persecution is one of the things that caused the american colonists to send the british for a long walk on a short pier in the first place.
No offense to the OP, but should we be giving out information, basically telling people how to break into a Ferrari? This is his first post, he's unsubscribed, his profile isnt even filled out very well, and were giving him info on how to break in? Not only to him, but everyone in the world.
I recently found out that even though the local police will not come open a locked car for you, the local FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL! (You local may vary on this, but it is worth a phone call...). A friend of mine works for the FD & told me about it Worth a try at saving $100.....
It's the manner in which the tool is used that establishes intent. ie; a hammer can be used to break a window, or drive in a nail!
