    Hi
Spend some time reading the Main Khamsin thread on here.
The Hydraulics carry a stigma as to it being Citroen which is most unfounded. Dont be mislead by all the know alls the system is quite reliable and the there are specialist that over haul all the parts. The cars are much nicer t drive than the "trucks" of the same era.
Change the bumpers to the Euro spec and the car is transformed looks wise.
They are different to drive as they are light in every control except the gear box in the manual. The Steering self centers and is two turns lock to lock and takes a little getting used to.

A quick scan of the pictures and the car has been fiddled with and looks tired.
The Rear Seat is missing and so is half the center consul. The sterio system is over the top. The claims the seller is making about the performance are bit optimistic

It will be interesting to se what it sells for.

    Regards
    Graeme

Moderator please merge with main thread to avoid reposts: this has been covered ad nauseam.

    Thank you.

    Bundas:

No I was not familar with this car. Do know that with Khamsins it is not only how much money has been thrown at a car but also whether it was driven regularly until recently or not. If yes good if not there will be reconditioning needed.

Please consult the main thread, and also the one on hydraulics, you visit here often enough that you should be aware of them!:) Best of luck with the bidding. This week I have very little time for emails etc due to a storm damaging the wires.

1016 appears to be the proverbial long term ownership car and its running condition will, beyond what the seller states, probably need some deferred maintenance taken care of but such cars emerging out of nowhere can be a bargain or a nightmare: get an INDEPENDENT inspection paid for. Good luck!

    best regards,

    Marc

Mitchell is a long time multiple Maserati owner, he is looking for a history on this Khamsin.

I personally would be as concerned about the missing pieces of the interior as its mechanical condition.

Good luck finding the entire rear seat section and parts of the center console if they are missing.

    From Ebay:

"The discerning collector will appreciate that this car is essentially a very good used car that has been well cared for since new. With under 50,000 miles and still sporting its original paint, there is no question as to the rust-free and gentle use provenance of this car."

    Yeah right. Essentially ...

But this one is really funny:

"Several people have written me asking about the original jack and/or tool kit. The car does have the original jack in its original bag. The jack is located in the storage compartment in the left rear of the car. There is no tool kit with the car."

There are a lot more important things to be concered about than a silly tool kit.

Hopefully the car will be rescued from it's long nightmare.

    Yes:

You are right Bob, people worried abou the tool kit...not the most important thing, though I hope it does not mean concours types are getting interested, not at all the right car for them as these cars need to be driven regulalry.

Sorry Mitchell and Joe: I had nothing on this particular car.

It has sold for 28099US$ which considering the condition, the US bumpers and mid western location is a normal price. I would appreciate if the buyer reads this to know to what state or country it went.

    best regards,

    Marc
