Has anybody seen this car ? Sounds like a nice driver/casual show car. Dont know how to do a link but the item # is 4567385628. Any experience with the dealer ? He want a positive feedback before you can pick up a car. On the other hand his feedback is 100%. What are the odds ?

I have only seen it breifly, so I can't tell you much about it. This guy is not a dealer, he is a collector, that sells some of his cars every now and then. Very nice guy, his cars are usually very well maintained, he has even had a Ghibli win an award at the Concour De Elegance. That is about all I know, but I would say that if the price fits, the car is most likely going to meet your expectations.

I can tell you that Ivan is meticulous. If it's one of his cars you can figure it's worth the money no question.

Of course the current high bidder is the same guy who purchased my Indy. I am guessing that he will come to an agreement and purhcase the car.

Black just doesnt do it for me in a Khamsin, on the other hand it looks like a F117 with wheels. The Carnut fellow has pics of a metalic blue one. That color looks great on this car.
    Thanks for the links.
Anyone here ever have one ?
    +s or -s to this model ?

It all depends are your height. If you are under 6Ft no problem, 6 or over can be an issue. The best guy to ask questions is Ivan (carnut). He is one of the most knowledgeable Maserati guys in the US if not the world.

You can also post questions on maserati@yahoogroups.

For years, Classiccars magazine has valued the euro Khamsin at 20,000 pounds (dealer price), whereas Classic & Sports Car magazine valued the euro Khamsin at 29,000 pounds. Anyone know the latest exchange rate? The euro version of the Khamsin is definitely faster & the europeans certainly love their coupes. Prices for classic Maseratis have been on the rise. I'm becoming less and less surprised at such a reserve.

two years ago , i saw a fully and properly restored khamsin at gary bobileif's shop. it was red w/ tan and the restoration was probably $100k ...the undercarriage was even perfect to the extent that all nuts and bolts had proper cad plating ...it was an out of this world , brand new car!!! he told me the price was $47k and i told him i would buy it .

the bad news was it sold a few days prior to me stumbling on it. that car was a bargain and wow do those cars have presence in the flesh!

does anyone know the car i'm speaking of?

A Khamsin is typically half the price of a Bora in todays market. It is devoloped way beyond the Ghibli ( IRS, hydraulics, et al ).About half the production.
    The most under-valued exotic.
    See one in the flesh.

70s Maseratis prices are not on the rise, nor are many cars from that era. It is the 60s cars that are taking off, be they Italian exotics, English roadsters and especially 60s American Muscle cars.

I know of the car you speak. It was owned by a guy who I bought my Miura from. If memory serves, the car when to Arizona. The car was in excellent condition. He made a comment that he liked the way the Khamsin drove better than the Ghibli. I've driven a few Ghibli's but never a Khamsin. I sure hope the Khamsin drives better than the Ghibli does, which don't drive all that well in my opinion (but great to look at).

That Khamsin is a very early European car. Note that it doesn't have louvered vents in the nose. The headrests are integrated into the seat backs.

This car was sold at the Kuse Auction during Concorso Italiano last year.

non-correct! This seats are the 1st version. Later the seat-design changed and the headrest was fitted ON the seats!

Still a fantastic design of a great car!

    Ciao!
