It looks like they got a U-1 Hydroplane hull and mounted a propellor on the front instead of an underwater one in the back. Some adjustable wings using servos should allow you to contorl maneuvers.

It looks like it uses an elevon set up like some flying wings.

For those of you that have never flown r/c planes before you may want to get something to learn on before jumping into this. I'm thinking this may be pretty tricky to fly, at least at first.

Very cool, and especially interesting to me for my vacation home that sits right on a lake 15' from my doorstep!!! Can't wait to check it out further.

I've done R/C planes for years, loved to design & build my own. We've had lots of boats driven with airplane engines & props....but this one obviously incorporates what basically comes down to a stubby/short flying wing into the cross-section of the hull between the pontoons. Nothing really special, but certainly something that hasn't been done before: ya gotta love innovation that was staring you straight in the eye!

It looks extremely "squirrely", not very stable in flight. I was impressed with the slowspeed sub-stall near-hovering he was able to do, but again....it wobbles and doesn't track very clean....comes with the wing planform. What it really boils down to is that today the little engines put out more power then engines of even 5 years ago, and the electronics are getting smaller and smaller with batteries getting lighter and carrying more capacity. Only 10 years ago the notion of an electric helicopter was impractical, today they've got dozens of 'em running upto 20 minutes!!!! It's amazing!

One last note, that video didn't show you all the crashes & damage when the thing "ate it"...all things considered that "thing" would be an advanced vehicle for someone to control.
