Now there is a PROJECT! At current price, one could probably recover it in selling parts. Restoration would cost at least double a reasonable sale price!

    Good day Ken,

The current bid is $15K USD and with a 2x this cost ($30K) for resto would be tough (all in $45K). It would depend upon what one would considers a "restoration" and to what level. Adding to this the time involved for all the work. I immediately see lots of $ on body/paint, engine, most likely the brake system, suspension, and the interior. Adding all this up will not be cheap or for the faint of heart.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Don't forget to mention, the steering wheel is on the "wrong" side.

A restoration on a 308 in that condition would cost north of $100K USD. Factor in a V12, boxer brakes and double the hides for the interior, you do the math. Upside down more than twice the value. That said, the first 308 I restored attracted a lot of negative attention for me doing such a thing on such a low value Ferrari, times have changed.

I was thinking $100K++ Interior and paint is over $30K.

    Good day Ken,

My apologies for my misinterpretation of your earlier comment.

Indeed, a lot of $ would be required... and is is based upon what one can see. I can only imagine what is not visible. If someone does buy it for a project, I wish them all the best.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day All,

Just an update on Chassis 18253... Someone sure wanted the car, as the site shows that it was sold for $40500 USD ... gulp... that's a lot of $ for a major resto project.

    Cheers,

    Sam

I can smell that car from here...whew. Also that right rear quarter paint is just insane.

Then again a desirable color combination. Hopefully it's worth restoring.

Gullwing usually prices his cars very reasonably, but I think he took a gamble on this one - he paid 40K. I doubt he will be able to make good on this.
