Thats the same guy I got mine from........I looked them over very closely and they look like the real macoys to me. The white paint is a little different shade on the backs compared to the fronts but you can only tell the difference when they are side by side....harldy noticable. The car reacts better and some of that may be the fact that the fronts are wider (by almost an inch) compared to the stock wheels = more tire on the ground when turning. yeah this was alluded to in another thread, on the 458, about gold wheels. These look great, both the gold on black or gold on red. Ferrari ran gold wheels in racing for years. And it looks good. I don't see any controversy about gold wheels unless they're done in poor context. But this is the right combination of body color and modifications. So if you like it, and it looks good on top of that, then just do it. It's your taste and your car. I give you permission to go for the gold
Anybody know the actual weight of the front and rear Challenge wheels? How much lighter than the standard wheels?
I never bothered weighing mine, but I sincerely doubt if they were 15 pounds each. The originals felt like 35-40 pounds.
I weighed my original rear wheel (with normal Michelin Pilot tire mounted) and got a reading of 50.5 lbs. Not sure how much of that would be the tire but I can't imagine more than 20 lbs. of it.
There is a thread with al that info, but can't seem to find it---I think the CH wheels were about 4-5lbs less each one. Around 19lbs or so....
