Latest rumour is that Ferrari/Leclerc have come to an agreement and he'll drive for the team in 2020 and he'll spend one more year at Sauber. I think at this poiint it's just best to wait and see what we get, lol.
I really hope that's true. I just want to see Kimi 1 more year at Ferrari. It would be quite the accomplishment to be driving for the Scuderia at age 40.
If at some point in the season the WDC is truly lost, I hope that Ferrari cut Kimi loose to pursue some of the race victories that he was denied. Perhaps Seb can return a few favors?
No big deal. Fangio didn't begin his F1 career until he was 39. And then he went on to win 5 WDC...which only Schumacher has exceeded. Kimi is down there with all the other one time winners.
One french internet site, "franceracing.fr" indeed has the news this morning, with a question mark. But I can't vouch for its accuracy in one way or the other... Rgds
A lot won't sign purely based on the fact they believe these type of polls are utterly pointless. Like me.
If ferrari were to actually take notice of this poll, then we need to set up polls on the potential strategy for the weekend, and hope they pay attention. We might have a chance of winning if that happens!
Well...OF COURSE it is pointless, Bas...but it is funny. If life was made only of useful things, it would be slightly boring, wouldn't it? Isn't Formula One slightly pointless, either? BTW: 70,200 and counting...the Iceman is popular indeed. Rgds
Not sure how credible the source. https://www.news.com.au/sport/motorsport/formula-one/ferrari-star-kimi-raikkonens-future-has-been-decided/news-story/167965642747cc1f0a06645fb172975c However, sources in Italy say that the Finn’s future has already been decided and he has been told by new Ferrari chairman John Elkann that he is being released.
Dated September 7th, so before this morning turn-around, which says (or pretend to know??) that, after all, and all things being equal they changed their minds and he will stay for one more season. Without any official statement, who knows... Rgds
