Very similar story posted at Autosport earlier.

My guess is we're simply deep in the silly season; He doesn't much like LdM and the feeling is mutual. Won't happen IMO.

What an *awesome* pairing it would be though! Kimi may just be the one that could keep up with Fred.

    *LIKELY SPOILER ALERT*

Kimi put it best today when he answered, "I don't come up with the rumours, so perhaps you have to ask the people who write them".

There is no love from (the top of) Ferrari for Kimi.

In F1 it's no use to have two top drivers, especially these days with everybody so close. They'll be taking points away from eachother and moan about preferential internal treatment for the other driver.

    Spoiler alert coming up:

If Kimi would have shoved Alonso off the track like he did today with Grosjean, we would not hear the end of it from Alonso.

I respectfully beg to differ - I just don't understand this argument. The "perfect" scenario would be they finish 1&2 and then 2&1 all thru the season - That is extreme but most importantly takes points away from their rivals - Very nice!...... The constant Phil bashing is due (correctly, even I admit ;)) to him not being up Freds chuff week after week. Can't have it both ways......

That's a different issue - Good team management should handle any internal strife IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    ^^ +1

IMO two strong team mates will push each other to perform, all good F1 drivers have that alpha dog drive ...kimi and grosjean have that going on

The only issue with these two is, they really will not obey to any team orders whatsoever unless they're mathematically out of the championship. Alonso clearly showed that in 2007 and Kimi said the same in 2008.

Performance varies so much from week to week, track to track, that having two top drivers puts a team in a much better position than in years past.

Let's be honest, Red Bull is leading the WCC by a comfortable margin and it's not like Sebastien has scored all those points by himself.

Sure! I have no problem there either - They're race drivers after all! As long as they don't take each other out, let 'em at it!

agreed ...it also means that the team can run two different strategy, and potential high placing or podium, with either, depending on the race
constructors points are huge for a teams $$ income, so two strong drivers helps in that goal also

You should really have said *Mark* hasn't scored all those points by himself! [He is leading Seb after all ;)]

But yeah, two "good" drivers certainly helps your WCC chances.

    Cheers,
    Ian

However, while true for most teams the few tens of millions difference between, say, 2nd and 5th in the WCC is *irrelevant* to Ferrari IMO - Forbes said they got $500MM for 5 years from PM (?) - That pretty covers their needs. Throw in the "minor" sponsors (who's $ may or may not go to PM) and they're not hurting regardless of WCC position.

    Cheers,
    Ian

You should tell that to the people on here that actually believe Santander tells them who to hire to drive the cars.

Kimi and Fernando would be a dream team.

I don't think Luca wants to leave anything on the table. Plus, for some fans the WCC trophy is more important than the Driver's. I might even include myself in that group.

True, but even if it's half true, it shows a sign that Ferrari is desperate, they really don't have many top line options....and a bunch of midfielders (yawn).....they may be stuck with Massa another year

Ferrari are not acting desperate, they are acting complacent. Massa is gone after this season. I think they should buy out Grosjean's contract.

This was what I thought as well - better Grosjean than Kimi at this stage for a number of reasons.
