    Tires ?
Something wrong with the car ?
    Brain fade ?

I was totally hoping for a dark horse 1-2 with Nico and Kimi.
But dropping from second to 14th in a few laps ?

Renault tried to get away with leaving him out on severely worn tires. They rolled the dice and lost.

RBR pointed that out when Webber-Button-Hamilton pitted, saying 'four of the cars in front still need to pit...or else they're going to have serious problems'.

    Renault had serious problems.

Me too. I was hoping for a Nico, Schumi, Kimi podium.

He dropped so far back because the field was so tight. Crazy race to watch.

I predict many dark horse podiums this year.

    Perez- check
    Nico- check
    Schumi-
    Grojean-
    Kobi-
    Massa-

    OK, maybe not Massa.

That would have been a "world has gone mad" finish .
Massa can still do a podium if Ferrari gets the car together and Massa comes alive on one of "his" tracks.

    It happens.

    This.

Vettel had a similar issue though not nearly as severe. Sometimes you win when you gamble, sometimes you lose.

    +1

I'm sure that if Renault had Kimi on a 3 stop like Grosjean he would have been in the top 5...

I wonder if they didn't leave him out there just to get the sponsors TV time. At this point their biggest danger is running out of development funds. They may be looking well down the road. Points and podia can wait.

    Gentlemen,

The Kimster is actually giving some interviews, well...at least more than the usual "mbmhmbl" of the past, plus he is in a positive mood; China forgotten, not far from a podium, maybe?

"Iceman shines in desert". Has a nice ring to it.
