the MB club of America magazine selected Kimi as #10 in the top 25 MB drivers of all time. He may move up the list before his career is over, in my opinion. The top ten were:

    1. Rudolf Caracciola
    2. Juan Manuel Fangio
    3. Mika Hakkinen
    4. Hermann Lang
    5. Stirling Moss
    6. Christian Lautenschlager
    7. Ralph De Palma
    8. Al Unser Jr.
    9. Bernd Schneider
    10. Kimi Raikkonen

Whilst I can't speak about many of the legends that appear on that list, what I can say is that Mika Hakkinen drove for Mercedes at a time when their cars were more reliable than they are now. McLaren is what's holding Kimi back nowadays. In terms of talent, I firmly believe that Kimi is a stronger driver than Mika ever was. And I am a big fan of Mika.

But I'm sure that list will change....hopefully after Kimi signs with Ferrari ;)

Dude, you are neatly forgetting the fact that McLaren was a dog from the 1994 to 1997 end - I know it was other manufacturers but still. So Mika had faced a worse situation - at least Kimi has a car that is either a winner or barbecue pit. Mika had a slow car throughout.

IMO, Mika made fewer mistakes under pressure than Kimi. Of course, everyone remembers the incident in Monza some years back. But that was really the exception ... Mika was fast and resolute under pressure.

Good list of drivers ... everyone can argue about placing X over Y but the right drivers has been chosen.
