That's not your call to make, nor it also isn't true. Schumi did plenty of things outside of F1 during his career. You can research it yourself, he took vacations, he went skydiving, he raced karts, and he even did his fair share of partying. Need I fetch the infamous picture where Schumi was completely smashed and wearing Toyota F1 attire? If Ferrari felt Kimi wasn't doing his job properly, he'd be fired. he's not Schumi, nor is he Schumi's number 2 driver, so there's no job security other than what his abilities can provide. Let's not forget, he's still a world champion.
I wasn't trying to imply that it was my call to make. It is a simple fact that to be the very best at something it requires 100% of your emotional commitment. I'm not talking about going on vacation. I'm talking but putting your soul into being the best. If he isn't, then he could be better with the addition of that commitment, which de facto means he isn't trying to be his very best at all times. One gets the sense when Kimi speaks about Ferrari that he doesn't have that "love" like Schumi did. I certainly could be mistaken given that Kimi is a Fin and doesn't really express himself emotionally very forcefully...he could be on fire and still have a "flat" expression on his face for all I know. I'm not doubting he is an amazing driver...but I feel he is giving 90% (from watching him on TV in the US...so I know what that is worth...I'm not dumb), and Schumi always looked a "100% guy."
Simply not totally committed like Shumi, Alonso or Senna. These guys will or would not rest, unless it would increase the probability to become world champion. I would like to see Vettel and Alonso in Ferrari.
In order to pass judgement on Finns, you need to skip some TV, go to Finland and get to know some Finns. They are not like Americans, or Italians, or anything else, for the most part. And the image of Finns created by American TV is garbage. It is as educated as portraying people with dark skin as dumber than people with light skin. Lets just say that Finns, as a rule, are no drama queens.
Kimi 2008 was forced on him by the conspiracy of 2007. This will be proven, one way or the other, by his performance (with no political restrictions) in 2009.
