Patently false: 1 7 Germany Michael Schumacher Mercedes 1:15.873 1:15.062 1:14.301 2012 Monaco Grand Prix - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ok, write to Wikipedia in that case: Michael Schumacher - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 2012 Poles = 0 Contradictio in eo ipso PS: To be honest, we should really go by what the official website (www.formula1.com) states and they do list MS as having the Monaco pole. PPS: I'm a huge believer in statistics. Even when they go against my argument. Whatever www.formula1.com states, is the ultimate word to me. No matter what anyone else says.
I believe there is very often an obvious line between what the law is, in this case published numbers and records of F1, and what reality is. Casey Anthony, OJ are 'legally' innocent, but not a soul doesn't know the truth.
Not disputing that but in the long run people will only go by the facts in the history books. Now if we could only find out who shot JFK...
Good thing those people don't run teams then. Fair weather fans don't make the sport, and people who buy into numbers are indeed fair weather fans.
I guess that makes me a fair weather fan then. For 30+ years and counting. It's all about the numbers. Just ask any MS fan.
Frankly, I do hope Kimi will come back to Ferrari. To me, it looks like Massa is still asleep, and have not woken up for the season yet. Having said that, bringing Kimi in won't make the cars go faster. The team needs to produce a good, fast car for both the drivers. It bores me to see SC go the first 2 laps unchallenged, and then i know it's game over.
I always liked the silly season and all the rumours it brings: it fills up the summer vacation conveniently, give us a lot of options to discuss, etc. But now the vacation is over and we are back to the normal succession of Grand Prix, even at the standard two weeks interval. Let's enjoy the racing again, and let the who-will-be-driving-what thing solve itself: we should know who is going where before the end of september. Everything has been discussed, and there is no new fact in this guy Pekka Franck article. I hope for him that he knows what he is talking about, but frankly, he is taking all this much too seriously: if the truth is that the Kimster has not signed for Ferrari, which is very possible, the man will look just like an idiot. Why stretching his neck so far as to say "I have the truth"? especially when you know Formula One? As for myself, I have nothing against Kimi returning back to Ferrari, I'm sure he could be useful here, just as Jenson Button could also be. But I really do think it would be better for the Scuderia to hire a young gun like Nico Hulkenberg. Kimi, Fernando, Jenson, or Felipe for that matter belong to a generation of drivers that is already slowly fading away; time waits for no one, and for Ferrari its time to invest in the future. Rgds
Lotus convinced (again...) that Kimi will stay: Lotus remains convinced Kimi Raikkonen will stay on for F1 2014 - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com
The way this guy sticks his head out, either he'll be a F1 journalism hero or the laughing stock and can find a new job. Nothing in between.
Webber says Ricciardo is going to Ferrari? (Pekka's scoop is that Kimi has already signed for Ferrari, not Red Bull)
I read Mr. Franck's conversation with another F1-reporter on Twitter and Mr. Franck said that he has faced a real '****storm' after the first 'Kimi to Ferrari' -article. He is probably directing his latest articles to certain persons/medias/reporters, however it's courageous of him to stand by his information and his source. But he doesn't waver at all which is confusing. During silly season the most ridiculous rumours are those coming from Lotus. They owe Kimi several millions and if they can't get it paid then I can't see Kimi staying there. It was already speculated that if they don't pay him what they have agreed upon, then Kimi might easily skip the last races this season, provided he has lost his chances for winning the WDC. Go and tell. Hopefully some official announcement is given soon so these speculations can stop.
after yesterday's race the drivers market is more exciting than the championship oddly since redbull got a seat available and massa's continuing poor form so many drivers not having a contract for 2014
I didn't know Button's contract was up as well. How do you guys think he would do at Ferrari? Could be a very solid number two. Just saying...
I think he'd be great.....but is he better than Massa? Massa has almost won a title, Button won one by the skin of his teeth. Only one way to find out! Where's Luca's number again?
Button could maybe be a solid number two, but Kimi won't sign a contract without a clause where he is given equal treatment. That's why this all sounds so ludicrous. Will Alonso settle for equal treatment? One Italian reporter wrote during Spa something like people in the Ferrari-pit walking close to the walls due to knives flying from Alonso's camp. What about the rumours that Alonso takes Santander with him and goes to Lotus? It will be the surprise of the decade if we see Kimi and Fernando in Ferrari, lol
Actually not a bad idea. I like Jensen, but he was world champion more because of the car than skill. I don't think he has enough aggression to be a serious contender which I am sure Alonso would welcome. In his day, Massa was a better driver than Jenson, it's just that his day is past.
As far as it is possible to know, there is no such thing as a "n°2" contract at Ferrari; all contracts guarantee "identical material" or whatever you can write without being too specific. "Equal treatment" would probably be more difficult. Remember in 1976 when Clay Regazzoni won the Long Beach Grand Prix with a big margin? One reporter asked Clay after the race "Clay, what a drive! How did you do it?" and he answered "I don't know! They must have given me Niki's car, I guess". Jenson would be just fine alongside Fernando; remember his results in the 2011 championship? Same number of victories as one Lewis Hamilton (3 each) and 270 points for Jenson against 227 for Lewis; besides, he is clever and astute. But I am more and more convinced that Felipe will stay (even if I would prefer a change), and that, apart the n°2 seat at Red Bull which will go to Daniel Ricciardo, nothing will change. Oh, and by the way, just another rumor: since 2012, TNT (kind of Brasilian Red Bull if you like) is one of the sponsors of Ferrari and the sponsorship contract is rumored to say that "one of the drivers must be Brasilian"... And I don't see why Fernando would move to Lotus; to Red Bull, yes, but to Lotus, I don't believe it. Any impression of anger between Alonso and Ferrari is just "comedia dell'arte". And I don't believe a Fernando + Kimi superteam to be the best option for Ferrari. So I think this guy Pekka Franck is taking it a bit too personally, and I hope for him that Kimi will buy him a round or two at the bar when it will be announced that he won't go to Ferrari after all...
