I am hearing rumors that Lotus/Renault are close to signing a deal with Kimi. Any of you have heard the same? I find it hard to believe as it was pretty clear that Williams was going to sign him.

LR is more competitive than Williams is, perhaps it took so long for Kimi to give an answer to Williams because LR contacted him as well?

Probably, personally, I rather see him at Lotus/Renault. Like you said they are a better team than Williams.

Does this means Rubens can have a final year at Williams? I hope so. I like to see him stay one last year with a nice tribute season.

While I still do not think Kimi is making a return to F1, this makes much more sense than him going to a glorified mid-packer. At least with Renault, there is the possibility of him being given a decent car.

Kimi's fast when given the equipment....but I don't see him being a development driver at ALL....

Maybe the Renault talks were long in the making but out of respect for Kubica they didn't go public with it.

    Ouch!.....

IIRC, Sir Frank trails only the Scuderia in total WDC's/WCC's won.

They all come and go over time - Newey is damn good, but he's not God...... ;)

The players move between teams. Generally for more "responsibility" than money. All part of the game IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Not sure about that: When Speed TV rattled off all the WDC winning/dominating cars Newey produced I started to see a pattern.

I used to be a huge Williams fan but their time is over. Frank in a wheel chair and Patrick retired. They're done for.

The past is the past. Williams hasn't won a race in how long...and they don't seem to be getting any better. I respect their history, but that's all they have going for them.

I am so sick of this Kimi saga after the Williams deal fell through. I think he's delusional with how much he thinks he's worth. Race F1 or keep getting his ass kicked in rally, whichever.

Just kinda tired of talking about it.

Wow, Kimi and Kubica would be a fantastic combination and make next year more interesting. This would really make the season if there were four teams in the hunt. The real question would be could renault/lotus put together a competitive platform capable enough for their drivers to win races?

If Kimi does race for Lotus, do you think they'll put a no-rallying clause in his contract?
