Cliff notes: If you have a Euro car or Tubi headers (not sure about others), standard Kintetix cats won't work on your car.

I finally found some time to install the Kinetix cats I've had sitting in my office for three months. Unfortunately, it turns out (and I was not attentive enough to notice) that the cats they ship American customers only have ONE O2 bung per cat rather than the TWO shown on the web site. I take full dumb@ss responsibility here for not noticing until my car was all apart.

Jason @ Kintex offered to add the second bung (and update the site) but I'll just handle it locally.

I know 360trev really likes them but, ignoring the O2 bung snafu, it's obvious where you're spending your money when you buy Hyperflows. The converter itself appears to have about 50% more area and the internal transitions from the cat body to the outlet are far smoother. The temp sensor mount is shorter (I hope this isn't a problem) and the holes drilled for it and the existing O2 sensor have flash sticking into the pipe that needs to be cleaned up.

Here's the a kintetix next to a ceramic coated Hyperflow.

Thanks for the tip. So Hyperflows are the better way to go?

Do these cats give you that much more power? What is the expected gain if so?

Does the car also become louder?

I have Kinetix cats, it really increase your overall sound level across the whole frequency spectrum. I am not sure how much actual hp gain, but for sure the car was a lot more exciting to drive. it's been more than a year without cel, just fun!

So, Kinextix or Hyperflow? Will one get CEL with Kinetix or not?

I have Kinetix Cats on my 360 CS. Better sound. Better seat of the pants acceleration. 10 HP increase on Dyno. I kept throwing CEL. Put O2 sensor extendors on. This has seem to work so far. You can find many different O2 extendors on ebay. I went with studio 42 company. I liked the workmanship and design.

I get periodic CELs with my ceramic coated Hyperflows, despite O2 extenders. Apparently, it's harder to keep the bigger, 100cell count cat lit off. Not having any actual data to back it up, I imagine the Kintetix will be easier to keep hot simply because it's smaller.

Finding someone to put in the 2nd bung is proving to be a total irritation. I may end up shipping them back to Kinetix. Argh.
