    As an aside, I attended BOTH of those auctions as a teen, and have both catalogs as well as a number of photographs from the auction.

    The cars were amazing. Recall a McLaren race car that caught on fire as they drove it in. It overheated, melting some plexiglass onto the engine. What a mess. Put it out right away, car was a "no sale" I think.
