Are your cars going to be in this event? How do I get mine registered? I think its being put on by Phil Smart. Questions Questions Thanks, Shelby [email protected]
If you are talking about the Concours at Carillon Point on the 11th I believe that is by invitation only.
Yep, by invitation only to show. The "very best" examples of various vintage and classic marques. It's like the "Pebble Beach Concours," but in Kirkland. I went last year and it was FANTASTIC!! Lots of vintage Ferraris and other great cars. Their website: http://www.kirklandconcours.com Here's a picture of one of our club members charging up the valve train on his 1994 V12 Ferrari F1. It sounded so cool when he fired it up for the crowd!!
Here is a link to pictures of last year, http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/314759.html?1063487101 I agree with Gary that this event had the very highest quality of displays. Many extremely rare cars. I heard the comment at the show last year that the Seattle area is an under appreciated mecca for a very large number of significant and historical cars. This show is a definate must see spectacle! It compares easily with some of the other 'great' shows in the country. My feeling is this show is going to grow significantly and will eventually have to relocate because of the limited space available and restrictive access. DJ
Nah, you're always cool. You just need to get a different, older, cool Ferrari. We tried to get all different cars from those shown last year for the show this year. So just replace that ratty old F50 with a cherry 166, or 250, or..., and we can probably find a place for you. Hoipe to see you there. Should be agreat show. There are going to be some incredible cars there this year.
I got mine at Phil Smart. BTW I don't see a map or driving directions to the venue on the Concours website?
Here are some instructions for getting there, borrowed from Mapquest. Once at Carrillon Pt, there should be parking in the lots to the left. There was plenty of room there last year. I'm sure we'll have traffic control people out there directing you once you get to Carrillon Pt. From Bellevue...travel on i-405 north to exit 17, NE 70th place. Take a left at the first light. The very next light, take another left onto NE 70th. Continue down about 1.5 miles to the intersection of Lake Washington blvd. Continue forward into the Carillon Point business complex. From Redmond...from SR 520 travel west, take the 108th st. Exit. At the stop light, turn right, next light take a left onto Northup way. The next light, turn right onto LK. Wash. Blvd. Must be in the right hand lane. Continue on LK. Wash. Blvd. till Lake View. Take a left to Carillon Pt. complex. From sea tac airport...follow signs for 405N. Continue north for approximately 18 miles. Take exit 17 NE 70th Place. Take a left at the first light and another left at the next light onto NE 70th. Continue SW 1.5 miles to the intersection of Lake Washington Bvd.. Cont. Forward into the Carillon Pt. complex. From Seattle...from 1-5 traveling N or S, take SR 520 Evergreen Point floating bridge heading east. Cont. East, take the Lake Washington Blvd. NE exit. Cont. North on Lake Washington Bvd. approx. 1 mile to the stoplight at Lake View Drive. Turn left onto the Carillon Point business complex.
Eric, Thanks! I was hoping someone would post better directions than my copied map, it wasn't very specific.
Hey guys, I actually work at Carillon Point in what's called the 3000 building. This is incredibly and annoyingly distracting today because there are tons of amazingly beautiful machines rolling into the parking garage in preparation for tomorrow's event, which is in the parking lot of my building. It's even more annoying because I won't be able to make the show tomorrow You guys are in for a great show, though. There are some great F-cars and other marques down there already. Including a beautiful silver MB 300 sl gullwing. Hopefully whoever goes takes some good pictures and posts them. PS - Notice that I'm legit now! I figured I'd been freeloading long enough
I went last year. Amazing! I am going to bail this year though. There is a 200 ft electrical trench with my name on it. I will be going on the Gig Harbor Breakfast Club run though. South Center at 8:00 am. Then south. DJ
I'm gonna have to skip it as well, still puting parts and pieces back together for Sunday (I hope). Maybe next year!
Geez, I've been crawling all over the place today, helping to move and park cars and just doing anyting that needed doing. As Dave says. there are some really beautiful cars here already (50 checked in so far) with still more treasures scheduled to arrive early tomorrow. It's been a great day, driving some dream cars, even if just for a short mile or two, and watching and listenting to others drive in. There's something just so surreal about a F512 race car stuck in traffic on Lake Washingotn Bvd, trying to get into the complex. And the sound that beast made as it drove underneath the garage. OH MY. YOu can just imagine some irritated Kirkland maven in her BMW, pissed about the noisy smelly car she got stuck behind that didn't even have muffler or brake lights. And how many of us can proudly display cuts and blisters earned while pushing a Bugatti down the hill? Or just putted down the street in a Deusy... What a great day it's been so far! I really do hope all of you can make it to the show tomorrow. The weather is likely to put a big damper of things, and we're very likely going to have to hold the show in the lower garage, and not out in the open. But the show will go on!! And when have you ever seen 17 Deusenbergs in one places? And I'm sure there are a few Ferraris most of you have never set eyes on either. And don't miss a chance to see my 1915 Ford Touring car! Maybe only the star of the show in my eyes, but it's a beauty, and it's a driver, and I worked on most of it with my father and brother. No garage queen for us! So please take the time to come on out, give a little to a good cause(admissions all goes to charity) and stop by and say Hi!
