no but i was checking it out . one has to be cautious with some of these but i can vouch that some are great . i recently put a chinese system in my old phantom with the small bmw based display and it worked like a treat . i paid $6,500 for the genuine ferrari version for my Lusso but would be interested to learn if these work : good luck . pls post here if u take the plunge Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
No, but I'm also looking for a carplay solution. I checked *********** Ferrari carplay kit and I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Looks like there's a couple options. They also sent me a video of it working in a Lusso. Looks really easy to switch between CarPlay and the factory screen. Looks reasonably DIY for install as well (need to remove under dash cover and plug the module in a few places). Works both wirelessly and wired.
Yes, I ordered the *********** kit. I haven't received it yet, but it should be arriving soon. Looking to probably install this weekend. lol.
fantastic - do let me/ us know as i am just working on buying one of several vehicles and none have the CarPlay .. so would be most interested
From their website directly… “Normal Operation: If you hear a buzzing sound from the module while driving at high speed, it is normal. This occurs due to network fluctuations when switching cities.” Doug
Interesting. I've found that if you're flying, getting a buzz while you're switching cities is fine. If you're driving, it's typically frowned upon.
Already installed, working fine. The installation was done by a professional and took less than 3hrs. Easy to install, retain steering wheel controls, easy to switch between original system and carplay, factory unit look. I love it and am hooked on it because it's convenient. wireless apple carplay worked as described. Anyway, hopefully this helps Ferrari owners looking for a carplay retrofit. That’s because the easiest way to get carplay in the FF is to swap out the terrible Chrysler Mygig head unit for something more modern. Plenty of posts on FChat from people who have done it.
But as I read it my 2015 FF is not wired for CarPlay, Hopefully I’m wrong, that would compleat w wonderful car.
Even if your 2015 car has the later head unit with two knobs instead of one, the easiest way to get carplay is to swap it out. Modern head units go beyond the wired carplay of the late FFs and are capable of wireless carplay which is far more convenient. Some of them even have basic DSP functionality which is a vast improvement on the basic tone controls in the stock head unit.
my *SS package arrived today , not for the lusso as both of mine have carplay but they have a version that is supposed to work on my 2010 RR Phantom Coupe . it arrived in excellent packaging with lots of cables , instructions etc , will report back once my guy has had chance to try to fit it Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but have confirmed that the KKS and Car link life are the exact same product. Just different retailers.
Yes I had it fitted to the 2010 Phantom and it works like a dream , connect directly to the Logic Seven amp system, using the direct AUX input (not the headphone jack one. I have a full screen not he tiny old BMW 5 inch screen, full operation via voice or the I drive controller and even works with the OWM back up camera. was very professional and high qiuality and I have no hesitation in recommending
I have, it was a pain to get installed and when I did find a place it took over 8 hours due to the module not being in the location it said. On the F12 it ended up being behind the seats in the center. Also, currently trying to get it to work right but still fighting with it.
I just recently installed this in my 458. I had to watch a few videos to get the feel of how it works, but now it’s seamless and picks up my phone the minute I start the car. Everything works just like a factory Car play would.
