Hi Dan, you mention getting new lap clamps, but don't specify a size...would that be 2 1/2" like the Saddle u clamps? Thank you!
Crap I can no longer remember if it was 2" or 2 1/2"...... I think its 2 1/2" but I am not sure. My suggestion is to just buy a pair of each and just return the other ones you dont use since everything now is easy return. And get stainless steel so they wont rust. They are readily available at most local auto parts store. Sorry for the brain fart. Dan
Finally was able to unpackage my Kline exhaust from the box. I am pleased that it came with all of the parts (I would have missed the clamps had they not rattled around when i was removing all of the bubble wrap...phew!) and they really did a great job in packaging everything so that shipping damage is minimized. However, as mentioned here before...the welds...my gosh, the welds. The Kline badge is sloppily tacked on in 3 places, another ID badge is now installed on the top (!!) of this beautiful muffler, and any Kline logo is welded on and not cleaned up...pretty shoddy quality control. Too bad too...I think the Kline logo is pretty cool. I expected better. Polishing the welds seems like a no brainer. I also have several black marker lines all over the unit...no big deal, just very sloppy. It really seems like once it was done, it was rushed out the door and packed more carefully than reviewed after completion. I wish it looked more like the pics on the webpage. All that being said, I can't wait to install this thing and hear how it sounds! That will mean more to me anyway. Since I'm no welder, any thoughts on how to clean up the muffler welds? Oops, I forgot to answer your specific question. Yes, they are called saddle clamps, also called lap clamps (same thing) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Glad to hear your Kline exhaust has arrived Yes, the welds could be better.... For the price we pay for these exhausts we expect better quality. Sorry I have no experience on welding so I don't have any recommendations on how to make them look better. You will love the sound! Dan Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I just ordered mine last week from By Design (Sam). Had a Kline on my last car and had to have one on this car. I actually asked if he could put the badge on top so you could see it when the hood was opened.
Guys, The TIG welds on the exhaust looks great and much better that of the competitors. The exhaust is very well made. Yes, the finish on the Kline & inventory tag could have been welded on better. That's why I asked Felix to use a thicker grade SS to avoid weld marks and weld the inventory tag underside of the exhaust. I also asked to minimize the weld on the shield and raise it on the exhaust. You can see this on the first page. ....i'm planning having the Ferrari logo of some sort engraved on top of the silencer.
I think that would be cool as right now its very plain looking. Im interested. Keep me posted please Seuong! Dan
I did get a quote from an engraver in Seattle a few months ago. It was for Ferrari lettering w/the shield on top....about 5"x 5". They quoted me $460 to do it. I'll keep looking ...unless maybe they can do a combo deal?! Dan, are going to the FCA breakfast gathering this Sunday? -Seong
I think $460 is too much. Sorry I won't make it to FCA lunch on Sunday. My ECU's has not arrived back yet from getting reflashed by Mase engineering I'll join you guys next time. Have fun! Dan Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Happy new year guys! I am glad everyone here got their exhaust, more under construction and will be sent soon. Any feedback is very welcomed! As for the welds, all our welders are coded welders, and they take great pride in the quality of their work. Our welds are just about the best in the industry! having said that, i understand the point about the heat discoloration on the logo. and we will see if we can minimize that in future. Regarding the badge, some people love to expose it and some don't. We have a standard position based on the majority feedback, but we can make an exception, if the customer makes this request. The serial number shows precise data in our internal QC system and also the provenience of your exhaust system. Some videos, please
Hello Felix, I agree, the welds on the exhaust looked great and It looks to be a very quality construction. Many of us love the looks of Kline logo. Here are my $0.02 ......... and we've had this conversation before. I don't know if you can do this but it would look way better if the logo was engraved on instead of the having a metal plate welded on that discolors and melts away part of the shield. Also, welding the inventory tag/serial number on the exhaust pipe makes more sense along with not having weld marks on the muffler exposed. I think these changes would greatly improve your marketing for our F430's.
Asked Felix if he could put the badge on top and he came through as usual. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks good. Thanks for sharing. I asked to put mine on the side as I plan on getting the top part laser etched with "F430".
So what whats the consensus on what brackets to use or not use. Iv'e read a lot of conflicting stories. Thanks
We welcome you inside our facility. This is where all the magic happens. From sheet metal to final exhaust assembly, all done in house. I hope you enjoy it!
Excellent video. I purchased some 100 cell cats for my scud from you and I’m very happy with the quality and appearance of the components.
In addition to the quality of the Kline system. Felix provides excellent support ! Great video Felix!!!
