Debating on changing my exhaust out. Thought about just unbolting the box and dropping an X-pipe on it but if I could find a valved system that did both, I might consider it. This led me to Kline. Thoughts and comments...

I just bought that GMG S-pipe exhaust (non valved) that was listed here a few weeks ago. Really a well made system. It's at the polisher now getting cleaned up a little and should be on the car in a few weeks. I'm running Fabspeed headers with cat bypass. It's going to be LOUD!

Not sure if I HOA president (aka my wife/loan officer) would permit me to do that. Luckly I'm getting away with 100 cell cats and CS exhaust, running my OEM headers 99-no precats). Much louder and I may be penalized.

Love my cs exhaust and with the 99 headers too. Trev did a amzing job on the tune where the valves open sooner. Love it

I'd would put a CS exhaust on the car if I could find one. Of the realistic available options, I think the Kline is the best sounding though - particularly in the inconel.

But...I'm still running the factory exhaust so don't listen to me...

Tubi makes A CS exhaust which looks great. Completely different then there standard 360 exhaust.

I assumed when I looked at that it was specifically for a CS, not for a street 360. After reading more it sounds like it can be mounted on a street 360 but you need a factory mounting bracket?

I think the standard Tubi sounds nice (melodic), and it's been around a long time and I think generally well accepted by the purists. I've never heard the tubi CS exhaust.

One of the issues with the Kline is how it might be viewed down the road by the purists when it's time to sell the car. The Kline is bad ass and sounds like an old school F1 car.

There's no concern (at all) about a factory CS exhaust would be accepted.

As far as the purists go, I've got the original football field length 50 lb Modena muffler just for them as well as an original CS exhaust that is on the car right now.

A friend of mine has the Tubi on his CS and, ironically, it's quieter than the stock CS. Still sounds good but not quite as loud as the CS stock.

I would love to make sure he didn't put the standard tubi and the cs tubi. If you seebtnatcar pics would be great

  15. I’ve heard the end-to-end Kline in person a few times over the past year. Two local FCA members installed. Sounds amazing on the 360, less so on F430 imo (even order harmonics on 360 sounds sonorous and musical whereas odd order harmonics on the F430 sound harsh/angry — but some people like that aggressive “bark”, so it’s def subjective). Go inconel over stainless if you can afford to. I’ve been struggling for 6+ mo’s with the issue @FatMike raised regarding how the Kline will be viewed down the road for resale and would keep the original parts for that reason. Also considering straight-piping as we don’t have emissions where I live. However, I fear the constant howl may get old fast; hence the Kline may be the best compromise solution. As long as you keep the original parts, I think you won’t go wrong with Kline in terms of resale and I’d be shocked if you’re not insanely pleased with the sound it brings to your 360.

I totally agree with this. I love my Kline on my 430 but I bought the stainless because I thought the price of Inconel wasn't justified over the stainless. In retrospect when I heard the Inconel and saw how it looked after a few thousand miles, I realized my mistake in Stainless. My stainless looks good in the color tones after about 2k miles, but if it was Inconel, it would look brand new.

  17. I'm looking into the specifics on the weight differential between Kline's SS option and the Inconel. Not as simple as comparing densities because I believe the wall thickness of the Inconel is considerably thinner, so less material is used. That said, Inconel is roughly 8.5 g/cm^3, SS is roughly 8 g/cm^3, and Ti is roughly 4.5 g/cm^3. At high temp's, Ti is less good structurally than SS. So, basically, the Inconel give you the high-temp strength of the SS with something like the part-weight of Ti, but at a significantly higher price than SS and a premium to Ti (although I can't readily find any apples-to-apples SKUs to give you an X% premium). My understanding is that this isn't so much because it's elementally "rare" (I think the alloy's component metals are all more readily found than Ti), but because (a) it's a trademarked material; and (b) it's hard to work with, although there is a company that's 3D printing parts out of Inconel for the military which it says gets around the machining and welding issues with Inconel -- no, they're not making exhausts ;)

According to Kline's website the exhaust with tips...

    F430 Stock (not 100% sure, but I think it's over 55lbs)
    F430 Kline Stainless 19kg (42lbs)
    F430 Kline Inconel 10kg (22lbs)

Strangely they don't have the weight for the 360 version. You may want to email them.

Just popping in to provide my thoughts. Just bought a used inconel kline valved set up for my scud. Over the past 15 years I've had many different exhaust brands on various vehicles, all of which I liked frankly, but all of which had pluses and minuse (brands ranged from ghl, oem, fabspeed, speedtech, switzer, tubi, agency power, magnaflow, ac schnitzer, ruf, and the list goes on), in various materials including SS and Titanium. The kline inconel is BY far the highest quality exhaust I have ever owned. The welds are insane, its literally jewelry. And its amazingly light as noted above. Best of all though, that thing literally cools off in minutes. I'd do the kline inconel for that quality alone. It also "seems" much more "thermally stable" in that I don't notice the pipes expanding nearly as much as my old stainless and even titanium systems I've had on this car. Sound is subjective so I won't comment on that, but man the quality of the Kline really impressed me. Just my two cents.

IMO straight pipe on the 360 sounds bad below 3000rpm. Coming off a stop it’s just buzzy and droney. Once you hit close to 3000 it’s perfection. IMO that’s why you need a valved setup on the 360.

Drone at cruising speed is a killer

  24. I really wish I could hear a 360 in person that someone's truly straight-piped, but they must be few and far between. Other than getting whatever particulates are in exhaust gas all over everything in the engine compartment and elsewhere, what other adverse consequences would there be of removing the rear undertray and manifold just to see how it sounds driving around for a day?

This is a terrible idea on so many levels.

Find a challenge car. As soon as it starts you’ll realize you don’t want that.
