Just off the top of my head:
How interchangeable would 308 and 512BB hubs be?

No but there is a way. There was a very rare dealer option back in '76 - '77ish to have wire wheels on a 308.. Some 246's came with knock offs installed by the dealer as well.. I know a guy who bought Yngwie Malmsteen's 308 from him.. Yngwie found an adapter that allowed him to install Borranis on his 308.. Not sure where to get those but it is possible to put knockoffs on a 308... I am sure someone on here knows.. Good luck.

Peter Sweeney of Forza Motorsports had a set of Borranis with adapters for a 308 about two years ago. Not sure if he still has them but i'm sure he would know if anyone does.

I have seen boxer wheels on a GT4. Im am not positive but I think the bolt patterns for the spline match the 5 lug 308 wheel.

Thanks guys but maybe i miswrote.

I'm not really looking for knock off but for wheels with a centre nut (like a boxer or older TR, can't find it here anywere but maybe i use the wrong search term. )

I like to find leades to a complete or parts of a set-up ( wheels, spline, adapartor, whatever t takes) to provide my 308 with these cetre nut wheels.

    Knock-off's, centre-lock, same thing.

I don't know what the hubs/adaptors of a 512 would do to the track, but suspect they might fit.

If not, buy a set of adaptors/splines drilled to fit the car. I am sure that MWS in the UK, or Dayton in the US could help with this.

The centre nut can then be had without ears, or with 2 or 3 ears. I'd love to have 3-eared spinners on my car, but it'd be a pretty expensive conversion, as you need the hubs/adaptors, wheels and spinners.

If it is wirewheels you are after specifically, you might also opt to buy a set of bolt-on wirewheels with Volvo PCD, which will be somewhat more economical.

    thanks Jack,

no i'm not after wirewheels but the question is fed by my plans to make the 308 into a circuitracer. These central lock wheels seems to me kind of the ultimate racy wheel option

Have a set of new in boxes Speedline Center Lock 18" wheels made for the 348LM campaigned by Michelotto. My understanding is the hub/nut/pin is similar to, or the same as, the F-40. The wheels are easy, the hubs could be the sticking point!

Borranis on a 308? Doesn't seem quite right.

I do miss the knockoffs. Sweptback 3-eared ones would look great with the standard wheels on my car.

    Off to Pep Boys!

Those center hex after market spoke mags are a center cap, over the standard bolt pattern...ie. not real.

Not saying some of the Rally Cars didn 't have them, like the F40 eventually did.....

There's known examples of Borrani shod GTBs but I don't think that's what he's asking......

Good looking car. I don't know about the Borranis...maybe I'm just set in my ways.

To me, ideal 308 wheels would be Boxer-type, with real knockoffs.

For a racer, I'd think you'd want to consider swapping out the hubs, rather than bolting a spline onto the five bolt pattern.
I've heard the odd report of 25 year old hubs having trouble on the track with modern (sticky) racing tires.

edit: You might add new stub axles to the list, too: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=252591

Not to mention the unsprung weight you'd be adding; weight that will affect handling and acceleration.
