You do realise that along with 1000 homes and maybe 300 souls that thousands of animals have also been killed.

 

Probably million.

 

Brave man. Those things have vicious claws.

 

No kidding. Koalas generally are not the cute and cuddly animal that people think they are..

I saw the pic on AOL's front page yesterday, but did not see the video until now. WAY COOL! I guess when you are a thirsty animal in a burnt up forest, you'll play the 'cute, cuddly' animal role for a drink of water! What a cool video though! In the states, we have raccoons that look just as cute. Though a few seem very friendly and you can feed them, I keep my distance, as they will rip your head off in a heartbeat........................Kinda like a mean, old grump wife

 

When I was single I lived in an apartment with a balcony that opened on to a creek. Lots of critters out there, but one racoon in particular used to come to my back door, put his front paws on the screen door and shake it until I fed him. When he was convinced I'd seen him and was working on a snack, he'd back away about 2 feet so I could throw him the food. When he was done eating, he'd come back and shake the screen some more. I remember running to the bedroom a few nights to get away from him!

 

What's fun to do is drench something like fruit cake or other dense breads or cakes with rum or scotch and toss it to them. Nothing funnier than watching a drunk raccoon stagger around your deck!

 

They have a few videos of drunk squirrels on youtube. A bit cruel, but I can't help but laugh. Apparently they get eat fermented pumpkins and get intoxicated.

 

It beats throwing Fizzies to seagulls to eat! I head they Blow Up after they choke them down in flight! The visual of that just cracks me up! For fun once in a while, I give Rigby Pop Rocks. She loves 'em! I pull out a pack and she just goes crazy!
