there was some talk here about Koenig 308's recently. is this car a Koenig? the interior looks stock and i am almost sure there are no engine mods Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not sure what that is. Don't think it's a Koenig. It has a 328 badge, but looks like a 308. It also has some euro stuff (rear valence), but also some US stuff (rear deck). The wheels look to be HREs. Where did you find this car?
The two rear wheel arches in the op's pic don't seem to match the squared off look of the one in your link. The rocker panels extensions , front air dam and the rear valance do seem to match your link. Will
Here's the real Koenig body kit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry but I can't remain silent any longer. I'm not a purist but these Koenig Ferraris are pimple butt ugly. I'm sure they thougt they were improving on a design by a firm that clearly had no idea what they were doing (Pinninfarina) but this is worse than most ricerism we see about these days.
100% right, ! All I see them as is a possibly good source for a project car .... a Keonig should sell for less than a normal 308 due to all the junk needing to be torn off.
May I also remind you that Koenig doesn't only sell body kit but High Performance stuffs too. Turbo charge kit, cams, pistons, and more, kinda like AMG for Benz. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed. I saw one at Monterey a few years back. Its even uglier in person. The unbalanced body work from the left to the right side is even more gruesome when you can walk around the car. And yet the 288 or even a 288 conversion is such a gorgeous revision of the 308 shape. Its one of those Mind's Eye things I guess. Rick
Looks like it started to morph into a Countach, and development was arrested half way through. The first car pictured looks like somebody let a 1980's Firebird spend a night in the Ferrari stable, and this was the result some months later Doug
Looks to me like the later Koenig side skirts and rear fenders withthe brake ducts removed. There are a few different variations on the Koenig kits through the years from rear fenders, front spoilers, mirrors, to rear wing styles. But from the last pic I don't think its a Zender. (Although if you were to remove those nasty cheese grater grill things in the ducts? Could be.) Good for them but the very fact that they would market these "kits" would lead me to question whether I would want to buy anything from this firm. It's the same reaction I had when I first saw the Pontiac Aztec...told me all I needed to know about the future of that Brand.
you guys are a very resourceful bunch, thanks! maybe its just the angle that i photographed the car, but the fender flairs do have a squared-off look to them. i shoulda took a side shot. and yes the rims are HRE's. it looks the same as the Koenig kit that you guys posted pics of, except that the cooling ducts were not opened up. its an 81 gtsi. looks like a Euro QV from the front and a vintage racer from the back, however i cant explain the '328' badge!! i thought it was a Koenig, but without the air dams, spoilers, and wing it wasnt as extreme looking so i was a little confused. i am thinking that Koenig built these as turn key cars. so, i guess my question now is, were these ground effects available from Koenig as kits? i like this car, i am sure purist want to puke at the sight of modded cars, but hey, these guys brag about 150hp race cars!?!?!? so who cares what they think, nobody is asking them to sign on to anything. because the ground kit is limited to the rocker panels and flares, it gives the sexy sports car, a muscular racing look without deviating from the original lines. plus the tires are huge which means it would be able to put down LOTS of power and make a great track car. i only found one pic of the Zender over the net, it is attached. thanks for the input guys, but i didnt start this thread looking for negative criticism from the over-opinionated. you guys can start your own thread, and show your character by desecrating my or anyone else's car there. these cars have a legitimate place within Ferrari's history BTW, Blaine, if your such an expert on design and Pininfarina, why dont you own a car he penned, instead of the only Ferrari Enzo didnt like? ..........they are spelled Koenig & Pininfarina
p.s. i dont mean to diss the gt/4 or anyone who owns one. i think it is a really cool car, the same way i think its sister design, the Lambo Urracco is cool. but some people should really keep themselves in check with the negative criticism. Image Unavailable, Please Login
IT WAS THE 80's... You had to be there to understand. I like some of the Koenig stuff. Companies like Koenig, Gemballa and AMG helped create an industry that's still going strong today.
I remember inquiring about the red 308GTS QV with the black wheels ( middle picture) back in 1988 or so. I believe it was advertised in the Du Pont Registry and was in Florida at The Auto Toy Store. At the time, the asking price was $ 77,000.00
I've never seen that first white w..i..d...e body before. That car is fantastic. I would *love* to own her. Maybe its a generational thing, but crazy auto tuning from the 80's turns me on.
