I just completed my first track event in the Koenig. First, I drove car from Clearwater to Miami, put about 600 miles total. No problems. Set the boost at 1 bar, about 15 pounds. That is about 675 to 700 hp. Car ran awesome, no oil leaks, no missing. Temps. were fine. I was actually suprised, to double the hp, run it hard, and not have one problem. Brakes were smoking (for about 4 or 5 minutes) after first run, took it easy after that. They are AP brakes, but rotors are still smallish for car. Car was a bit difficult to drive fast, felt it's size. Sebring would be a better track for my car I think. Very happy with car, rained very hard for an hour, sat in traffic for a while, car ran perfectly. Who says Ferraris aren't reliable? Taso
I'm soooo jealous! I Love TRs...but can't imagine the power that thing has. How did the transmission "feel"? That's a lot of power! I've seen a few turbo TRs for sale and have always thought about trading mine in on one. But reliability has been a worry....you seem to dispell the myth however. I would love to hear more about your car, if you wouldn't mind.
Transmission felt fine. I really take it easy on the clutch and tranny, no clutch dropping or slamming into gears. Transmission is reinforced from Koenig, not sure what that entails, I do see a transmission cooler. I heard that is the TR weak link. At 17 pounds, car made 660 to the rear on pump gas. My next step is to upgrade intercoolers, and eventually run 22-23 pounds (for short periods). We think it should make about 750-800 to the rear. Newer intercoolers will help at lower boosts also. I am not familiar with Norwood cars, only thing I would say is to have the car Dyno tested before you buy. Seen a lot of suspicious numbers thrown around. I know Koenig is well respected, their body parts are wind tunnel tested, etc. Email if you want more pics or info. Taso
