Has anyone used the KONI Classic shocks on a Ghibli or a Merak? Front & rear.

I'm interested to know if they feel/behave differently from the originals (harder/softer/etc). I believe they are also adjustable, which the originals are not.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for starting this thread.
Am also currently looking for the right replacement shocks for my Kyalami.
Purchased the blue/red combo from Jacques but they dont fit (too high/too stiff)

Got some springs from bill mcgrath and heard that Spax shocks are good.
Since the rear axle is similar to the one on the Jaguar XJS maybe someone got some experience worth sharing with Koni, Spax or else.
    Thanks
    Dirk

The KONI Classic shocks have one adjustment and look like the old shocks (big tube etc), while the Spax shocks have two adjustments but look like modern ones.

I did the Koni shocks listed for Maserati Bora/Indy/Ghibli for the fronts in the catalog back in early 1990s.

Now what's wrong with a catalog listing such as that?

That shock can't possibly work for all three cars even if it is the same dimension. Those cars have different suspension tuning requirements, at least the Bora certainly does.

So when I put them they were horribly harsh. I sent my one good original shock and the pair of Konis to them and they calibrated them to match. Now perhaps you could adjust them to match but I didn't have access to a shock absorber dyno for that and didn't want to go the trial and error route. Besides these shocks only adjust for compression.
It wasn't a cheap thing to do but it worked flawlessly.

Did you have any success in getting the right replacement shocks for the Kyalami? I am looking for some (the ones on the car seem too low) but I don't know the proper specifications, and the OEM (Ariston?) replacements are very expensive.
