Among all the virtual high-fives for the *announcement* of the Austin layout, I grabbed this from Adam's site: Get Tevu (?) off the hook maybe...... The full story is here: http://adamcooperf1.com/ Cheers, Ian
Blick's Benoit had a story about this a few days back: http://www.blick.ch/sport/formel1/hier-soll-in-55-tagen-ein-gp-stattfinden-154368 However it is anybody's guess at this point whether they will make the deadline or not. Here some recent pictures from Blick: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A hotel that opens 4 days ahead of time might be a bit rough around the edges, but did open in time. Now with the track IIRC the FIA has tougher standards: Isn't there supposed to be a non F1 race run first to rubber it in? Looking at these pics, they might be hard pressed to do so. Also not knowing anything about Korea, is there any significant kind of motorsport to hold such a race? Regardless, the FIA officials soon have to make a decision on whether to hold this race or not.
I forgot the skeptic emoticon. Bernie & Co will bend over backwards at this point but if there is no track surface the denial gets quite difficult. Looks like the business aspect trumps the sporting one yet again. If anyone is surprised they should leave the room
Unless he's going dirt-tracking, I can't see anyway that Karun is going to run this weekend, as is "expected" (!) Here's Coopers comments from the link above - He also quotes the relevant rule, and it doesn't appear that there's a requirement to hold anything ahead of the GP..... In general, they do, but it doesn't appear to be mandatory: Now, this should be the bailiwick of the FIA and nothing to do with the evil pygmy...... Cheers, Ian
