Kovalainen - IROC Bang-Up

I wonder if the rear suspension broke first sending him into the wall or him hitting the wall is what did it.

Also Michelle Mouton flipped her old Audi Quattro S1 during this event hitting the curb a little too hard.

 

You can't see it clear in this clip, but he tags the outside wall on the last corner, which appears to damage the suspension. But after Kovi also said there was also a throttle issue.

His girlfriend was in the car at the time, and although Kovi was showing after to be rather shaken by the incident, she seemed highly amused by the events ..

 

No I was talking about that first time that he hit the wall, not the big crash at the end. And I was wondering who the girl was at the end, thanks for that info, I was sure it wasn't Sebastian Loeb.

I wonder why? Shes in crutches for all of this week

Shes got an injured hip, pelvis and leg muscles.

Her injury's may not have been fully apparent immediately after the accident, or she is just a tough chick as she was seen to be laughing or having a joke with the ROC marshals / organisers on the live steam footage no long after the crash.

Says he got knocked out too... perhaps one of the plastic barriers entered the cabin?

 

Probably the driver's side impact that got him. It used to happen a lot in NASCAR before the new barrier system IIRC.
