yeah i should apologize if i soiled his seat. having just come out of a 500hp V10, i wasn't expecting to be as impressed as i was in a 120hp 4-banger. that thing has some real squirt, left the big-boys-toys for dead down The Eagle.

heh, but it has 30 years of technology and a 600kg porkage advantage, try to keep up on a downhill twisty section like the Eagle those anchors would have sent the poor mistress on a Thelma/Louise adventure.

you're so at-one with the road in that little thing that it actually made the G feel somewhat aloof. astounding.

Can't find any suspicious stains, but I've had heaps of passengers in today so hopefully its all washed off on them...

I'll definitely try to get the red elise out next time...But we really need a british racing green to complete the colour scheme!

okay, a better review of the cars... well, what can i say about mhh's Gallardo that i haven't already...? the thing is flawless and other-worldly, a real beast of a machine.

it was great getting some decent seat time in a GT4 in it's element, what a phenomenal sound the thing makes, those growling webers and the smooth yet brutal power delivery all the way to 7000rpm, dam impressive for a 30 year old V8. people who say not a legitimate Ferrari be damned! i'll post some video of it some time so you can hear it growl.

the more time i spent in it the more convinced i was that it was much like my X1/9, except put together much better, with an awesome V8 in the back, and infinitely better interior, and well okay, nothing like my X in that respect, but the soul of The Beast is definitely familiar.

then the Lotus Elise, what a little scalded cat that thing is. start stretching the legs and it runs out of puff compared to todays companions, but the initial sprint to a decent speed is nothing shameful, and the pure grab the thing has on mother earth is enough to rearrange internal organs... not to mention just how dam sexy it is. when i got in the ragtop targa had been removed, i can't conceive how anyone who isn't from Cirque De Solei can get into the car with the roof on.

again with the X comparison, they are almost identical in dimensions, and the X makes ingress and egress an affair best left to private moments... but the Elise has so little room in it, a really high sill, and the door-jamb is about a foot wide. but once you're in, the only time i've felt closer to being at-one with the road was when i stacked it on my pushbike and ended up with gravel-rash on my face.

the Porsches... well, those GT3's are just nutty, and it's a real sight to see a black one and a white one together, now i know what Stevie Wonder was singing about, though i'm only guessing colour comes across in braille... we didn't really see much of them... those guys are just too fast for normal humans, and the sound of the white GT3... oh what a gut-wrenching race-car melody that thing produced! to see him take off at a t-junction with the back end getting loose and hear him hitting the limiter up the hill was spine-tingling.

more vid-cap pics to come later... thanks to all and sundry. :)
