And of course the current issue has Mike's article on Kroymans.
Including a photo showing a total replica but unfortunately captioned as a real 250 GT SWB................ Marcel Massini
I like this picture better of the 4cam. My excusses for using this picture as I didn't take it, I was only I believe 4 years old then, I wish it was in my stable. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Correct, his real SWB 1960 is 2365GT STEEL The replica was built by Hietbrink as a comp 1961 ALLOY car WITHOUT a chassisnumber (not a donor Ferrari chassis used) I do not know which s/n this replica currently uses. Both cars are black. Tom
As I have mentioned so many times already............ It is a 250 GTE chassis #3725 GT with engine #4025 with internal #672/62 E. Marcel Massini
Yes but some only tell stories or do not do their homework very well. I've seen photos of this 'donor' GTE in the basement in Hilversum. Some thought this car was 2365GT, but it was not a 60 car as everyone could see. For some (or most) stupid to think before checking.....alloy-steel-shape 60-61 etc Maybe some parts were used from 3725, but the chassis of the replica swb was completely new manufactured by Hietbrink. When this replicar was in the Hilversum showroom and some events, 2365 was undergoing restoration. Photo is 2365 Best Tom Image Unavailable, Please Login
Who cares that #3725GT is a replica or what, I wish it was in my stable as well, it is so beautiful built and runs so fine, there is so much pleasure to get out of that car.
It's important to distinguish fake cars from real ones. That car Mr Sheehan misidentified is probably for sale!
IMO potential buyers should be very careful these days and VERY thoroughly vet every purchase. I'd bring a micrometer and a magnifying glass...
As mentioned earlier, just see page 39 of Sports Car Market magazine (SCM), issue January 2010, Vol. 22 #1. Marcel Massini
Thanks for clarifying. From the sound of the thread earlier, I had assumed it was going to John Shirley. Best, Dave
I'd bring along a Swiss magnet. Only the word for magnet in french, italian, romansh and german isn't magnet- it's Massini.
