I just used this stuff to refinish some black plastic pits on a porsche 914. The plastic had some small scrapes, and was generally very faded. It just looked old.

I sanded the plastic down with 400/800/1000 grit, and polished it, but still looked dull. So I gave it 3 thick coats of this paint. Then sanded with 800 grit, and buffed it with paint buffing compound. The bits look brand new. And, they should look like that for awhile. This seems like a much better method than the spray on junk (Armourall, etc) that lasts about 4 days before it fades.

This paint REALLY sticks to plastic. I fully anticipated that buffing it (within 3 hours of drying :) ), would ruin my efforts. But it didnt. The paint bonds extremely well to the plastic!!!

I wish I had pics, but I am not sure the detail would show.

    Anyone else tried this stuff???

I haven't used it yet, but was planning on using it when I re-do my daughter's outdoor play house. It's one of those Little Tykes deals, really faded out in the sun. Nice to hear you had good results, Bo, I should have my project done in a few weeks (but I wish my project was as interesting as yours!). :)

I have seen this out for years and just recently saw the commercial on TV. It's supposed to somehow bond to plastic on a molecular level.... Not sure about all thats envolved, but I have a few things I have want to paint as well.

How long ago did you do that? Does your car sit out in the sun often? Looks like it turned out pretty nice!

Lasted a good year. I only put a couple coats on. It did NOT fade, but doesn't stand up to rocks too well.

I'm about to redo it, and clear coat it.
