    Dear Ferraristi,

DO NOT CHANGE TIRE SIZES for the OEM rims. Stick to what is required for the car.

The Testarossa rear tires are already an odd size and too narrow in my judgment but I wouldn't differ for safety reasons.

If you upgrade to 512 TR rims....that will provide you a wider tire and more choice of rubber.

    OEM Testarossa sizes:

    F 225/50ZR 16

    R 255/50ZR 16

Try Sumitomo tires...sizes still available from the Tire Rack

Just got new tires for mine. Had to go with BFGoodrich G-Force Sport, as it is the only one that still have Ultra High Performance tires in production in the OEM sizes.

I would never use a Kumho n the TR.

I have tried them on my Lexus coupes and they are fine to 10000km and basically as you roll over than figure on the odometer, they turn to total crap. Flat spot, square off and get very firm to ride on.

    Don't destroy your car.

Sumi's have a good name but I have no personal experience with them.

BFGoodrich G-Force Sport look the goods and I have a stt here to try on one of the coupes. If anything they may be a bit open in the tread and this may induce some noise but Tifoso1 can fill us in on that one.

Where do you guys find these tires? Just came off the Tire Rack's website and all they show are Yokohamas.

I will, after I get some miles on them.

Look for them by tire sizes and not by vehicle.

In the UK Kumho are seen as a cheap tyre - are you guys really putting this stuff on your F-cars??

Sid, I put them on my car and found them to be at least as good for grip and at £65 each I can give them some stick in the bends. There are many of us in the UK on Kumhos.

I have used Kumhos on my E55 as well as my Viper, as well as my wifes Land Rover. I know tons of guys in the PCA and VCA that track them and swear by them. I have oonly good things to say. My .02.

I have had the BF's for two years now. No noise, seem to handle fine. although I dont drive the car much. They do however pick up small stones very well. The 265/45 may look alittle small in the wheel well. The perfect replacement for the stock rim would be a 285 or 295/45 (if they would make it)

Wow, didnt realise...... long time since I tried anything other than the OEM makes, I wonder how they would work on the 612 (that eats rears and the last tyres were £400 per boot)

A pair of rear ZR rated Kumho tyres for a 355 cost £340. Cheap you say.

I put Kumho Esta's on my TR. OEM size. They worked great. Then I upgraded to 18" HRE wheeels and they came with Brigdestones on them. I liked the ride on the Kumho's.

Is "reading the treads" like reading tea leaves?

Thats cheap in Testarossa terms. An original Michelin rear for a testarossa is about £340 for ONE tyre.

SO yes, cheap, very cheap. :)

I'm sure Kuhmo makes some fine tires, but I put Bridgestones on the 512TR. I've been super well pleased.

On the other hand, I put Kuhmos on my trusty Tundra truck and I truly hate them. The worst rain tires I have ever seen in my life. I won't let my children drive my truck in the rain, and if I've no weight in the bed of the truck, I am hesitant to put it mildly.
