Last weekend I attended what must have been for me one of the most awesome Ferrari events.

To give you any idea, sitting in a 430 Scuderia with the a 166MM next to you and a clear road ahead....the sound of the two cars, feeling the history and marvelling at the sheer beauty of the 166 + being left slightly deaf and rattled by the Scud....and all this before we even arrived at the track!

Arriving at the historic Kyalami Grand Prix circuit was really something, I hadnt been there before but that was nothing compared to the sight and sounds that greeted me in the pitlane....the sight a 250 SWB being warmed up, a classic 365 GTC, the immortal Daytona and about 130 other Ferraris...

The feeling is hard to describe the atmosphere extremely special, the scream of 360 Challenge Race cars mixing with the roar of a immortal 365 BB....everywhere one looked there was something amazing...

For me though seeing and hearing 2 F40's was unbeleivably special, just walking up to them raised the hair on the back of my neck...hearing the one Tubi equipped one pop and bang on de acceleration is something I will stay with me for a while..

The scream of the V12 in the SWB was nothing short of amazing...my friend drawing pole position for his 430 Challenge race....his car bearing the famous number 27...an emotional moment...

Going around the circuit in the 430 Challenge, having a bit of a dice with a 360CS....and seeing a 430 Scud in blue....wow what a colour!

Another friend raced his 430 Scud and managed to pass 2 full out 360 Challenge cars...

It was a truly amazing day...and driving back to the townhouse in the 430 Scud, the sun setting it occured to me that this was really a day that will live with me for a long long time.

A massive amount of pictures to follow.

    Hi Jacques,

Thanks for sharing the pics, looks like I missed a great event!

What is the chassis # of that SWB? Maybe it's the angle of the photos, but the bodywork seems a liitle strange in places. Is there a story there?

166 outside is always reason for celebration.

    Cheers!

    Was a great event!

Well spotted....the SWB is in fact not a SWB but a replica built in the USA....apparentely as far as replica's go these are extremely good and are valued around $500 000 or so....(I speak under correction here)

What chassis does it have? Don't want to nit-pick, but it can be spotted from a mile away. It should still be an exciting drive, but that's a lot of cash and can buy you a lot of real Ferrari.
