Nice to know! I'm sure it will be a beaut. But NOTHING compares to their 1/12 F40 models....

Wow no more replys/information on these?

It would be awesome, yet doubtful if they made a version with those black OZ Racing wheels like they have on their superb 1/12 F40 model.

In Diecast-X magazine there was an article with interview with one of Kyosho designers and it was explaned the principle o which they choose the models to be produced.Going by the info in it they should make different versions and different colors. Also it was said that they are working on an F430 in 1:18 and there were pictures of prototype parts and the body for it in progress, so be on the look out for that anouncement too.

As far as the F40 goes, all I can find are reports of a red and yellow one.

What other information do you have? I'd love to see one with the wheels I mentioned before, or maybe even a F40 LM!!!!

I don't have any particular info about the F40, but what it was said in the article was that when Kyosho looks into making a new model they research what models were made and how many variations of it exist and also how easy the access to the real car used for the model is.They already have made what you are talking about in 1:12 so they have the info needed to make the same thing in any scale.Plus there are enough F40s in Japan.I am speculating, but if I understood corectly what they meant in the article it will be way more cost effective for them to make different variations which don't require that many different parts(case in point the "light version")They have made two different 308s and they are coming with a GTS.I am sure same will happen with the 328.It also happend with the Daytona. Therefore it will be only logical the same to be the situation with the F40.However I don't believe the same would be the case with the F40Lm since that would require completely different mold for pretty much everithing but the engine bleck and windshield.Anyway like I said I am speculating and just going the way of the logic and what has happend in the past, which makes me believe that perhaps an anouncement for 1:18 F50 is due.(They have produced, whithin short period of time, all the cars they had made in 1:18 in 1:43 also, except for the F40, which they just announced, and the F50 which lets hope will follow.
    Time will show for sure..........

Yeah good point about the LM. But my fingers are crossed for a 1/18 F40 with those black OZ Racing wheels still!

What is it with Hotwheels, Kyosho and Tamiya? Why do they keep making the same models over and over again and keep skipping the same models too? No one has ever made a 1/18 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT, a Lamborghini Jalpa, a Ferrari Mondial 3.2, a 308 GT4, or a 412. A 288 Michelotto was made by Jouef and a Dino 246 GTB was made by Anson, but all with a low level of detail. These are cars that I would love to have.

I therefore hope that Kyosho skips making the F40 (the Elite F40 is perfectly fine) and goes straight to the F40LM. That car would sell like hot cakes!

I would love to see a F40 LM too.

But you have to remember the F40 LM would require them to
design many new body panels. While making a F40 would simply
require them to "steal" the designs from their other F40.

There are countless collectors waiting/hoping/begging for a 1:18 F40LM but none of the manufacturers seems to have figured it out. Exoto said they would but they didn't and maybe never will.

I agree with the fact that the mold would be more complicated so maybe it can't be ~ $100 USD (as the Kyosho 1:18 F40 is expected to be) but I was thinking about the CMC SWB...that was an amazing model at ~ $230 USD...surely CMC or someone can make an F40LM at that price point? It would sell out in minutes. Don't you agree?

It seems so obvious...why can't someone do it?

Surely it can't be any more involved than what Kyosho have done with their Countach's.

Take their original LP400. They added new front spoiler, wheel arches, rear wing, mirrors and wheels to give us the LP500 and they've even made a new rear engine cover (and engine no doubt) to give us the forthcoming Countach QV. The F40 LM should be easy!

Wow, you really put your faith in Kyosho! I am a little doubtful that the Kyosho F40 would actually be nicer than the Hotwheels Elite version. I can't wait to find out.

Canadian release date is supposedly this coming June. Possibly earlier in the UK or Asia?

Correction: yellow is April 2007 and red is June.

I'm pretty sure only Anson and Kyosho have made the 328 in 1:18

Is it correct that the Kyosho F40 is also going to cost almost twice as much as the Hot Wheels Elite F40?

Anything Kyosho is worth the money. HotWheels just does not have "it". Elite is ok..a real improvement..but still is not worth what they charge for them.
