I passed on this steering wheel when it was offered to me for sale for $2000 CDN about 5 months ago. I have held it in my hands and here were my observations: - The wheel was re-cored in wood rather than foam like original. As such it is rock hard rather than a little soft. - The spokes were not re-anodized or cleaned in any way prior to re-covering. As such they show accumulated wear and tear from 40+ years - Square stitching on the back is totally wrong and used in more modern wheels but not in a wheel of that vintage - Main stitching is thicker than original with longer stitches than original. - Stuffing on the extensions where the spokes meet the wheel are too square in appearance. - Leather is a little grey compared to the hard black of original - I cannot remember if the wheel was straight or a little tweaked but I'm only going on memory Caveat Emptor
