I love your cars Roy. Wish you would have done Concorso Italiano instead though. We were there with the Lambo and Ferrari Clubs. The new owners did a fantastic job and there were alot of great cars.

Yes I heard it was nice...but also heard it was a bit of a Billy Goat Climb with all the up hill venue..ours was nice and flat with the cool breeze off of the Ocean..our Hospitalty tents filled with GREAT FOOD, wine, beer as well as alcohol and all types of pop's and water, almost anything you can think off....along with the great Tarpy's BBQ, live band of all type's of music and a very relaxed non-compeative, NO car Judging setting...just the relaxation of friends and cars together...did not matter who had BEST in anything...they were are all great.

Just to set the record straight, here and now in print...AFTER NUMEROUS attempts by me and several others to get a commitment from Lambo Club of America/Jim Heady, President of the Club as to where and when this past years CI would be...and trying to get a straight answer of will it re-appear at the "airport", with NO ANSWERS what so ever..it was getting late in the year and I went with our event.

There days later, AFTER learning of our event we had committed to, I finally get a call, from Jim Heady, telling me he has decided for the Lamborghini Club of America AS President of the CLub to have the event with CI. At that time he also advised me of the location and the fact that he had the exclusive rights to Laguna Seca Country Club, which he has had for some years. He had decided to allow the NEW OWNER of the CI to use his rights and place the event there...for what Monetary exchange amount was not disclosed to me by Jim Heady.

I can tell you I do not have any ownership in either the CI, the Lambo Club of America or the event that I attended. I did pay a sponsership fee to aid with all the costs involved in putting on such a show of this size.

My involment in this venture was to GUARANTEE some sort of show for the Lambos and all other Italian cars in Monterey this year when it we could NOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER as to what CI was doing, totaly in the air as what to do..AND now, after the fact we learn it was secertly for sale....and was not an easy sale as it had no where to go...until Jim Heady stepped up with his "Secured Location"...waiting for the right time to take advantage of his investment...can't wrong him for that.

I am sorry some feel as if the Club was being divided, but maybe with the whole story out, some can try to see my reason and purpose for committing to this event. I also must add that since I had given my WORD to the owners and presenters of this event as a sponser...it was NOT AN option to bow out after Jim Heady advised me of his plans and asked me several times to drop my sponsership...my word was my word and I could not do that.

I was also told by a very reliable source from Lamborghini Corprate that they decided to NOT throw in with either of the two events and went with Quail this year..they took a wait and see approach for the coming years with these two events. I do think with the coming of the NEW 5 star Hotel at our location on the GOLF COURSE, there will be no questions as to where the best place to be is in the future.

Sunday in speaking with Jim I thought it would be a good idea for the owners of these two events to meet and hash some stuff out so as not to repeat this in the coming years...I suggested maybe something of a on one year off one year trade off...or a combination of the events at one local location...but I was sternly told by Jim Heady that The Maserati Club of America had slit their own throat by coming to our event..and that TOM the owner of CI HAD NO intention of for-going his ownership right of Friday's to hold the event, nor would there be any consideration of combining the events...that TOM has the money to spend on this event...and if that's what it takes that is what it will be.

Let's hope cooler minds with ONLY intrest in the true once a year gathering of FUN from all over the USA and beyond preveals AND not the profit of it come together in the next coming year and get this all back on track.

    Roy,

Your rainbow selection of colors, styles and years was amazing as ever I have seen. One of our last event at Pocono had 78 Lambos and I am sure of that many with you for our event in 2010. Your support for Lamborghinis this year and every year for the future is greatly appreciated. Jerry, co owner of LDV.

I'm sorry, I just have to chime in...

This show was...basically a no show. Concorso was like 1000x better. La Dolce Vita was a bomb, and everybody that was in Monterey knows this.

ok? Did I miss something? I don't think so.

    Thanks,

    Fred
