My bet this one's a Ferrari dealer's personal allocation Whereas true retail buyers would hesitant to do so
China is falling off a cliff. Armani closed their Shanghai store. I know several who were invited who are passing. Look at FML. Count the 458's, 430's, California's, Scuds, FF's. A hard rain gonna fall. Many thought gold was cheap at $1800. I didn't.
Napolis. I wrote that gold was in for a substantial pullback. Not sure it will fall below 1,000. May not fall much under 1,200, unless some major economic news comes out. I actually see high end cars (over $200K) pulling back a bit. (There will be, obviously, exceptions.) As a general rule, do you see this, too? Specifically, I am thinking about late model 599s, GTOs, Late model 458s, Lambos, Porsche CGT, Astons, Bentleys, Rolls, etc?
I am delighted my 458 spider sold for more than I paid including taxes, etc and dealer commission. I too think that when (not if) things fall over, it is going to fall *hard*. Might not be "tomorrow" since right now, the USA is the tallest midget, nicest house in a bad neighborhood... Besides I didn't really love the 458 spider -- way too flexy.
I have been thinking the hard rain was coming since mid 2011. But it seems the fed has unlimited printing powers and no matter what happens out there, they keep buying and injecting money they dont have. So, when do you forecast this hard rain? I know it's coming but it looks like there are still a few sunny days left.
Of corse, the US needs to keep the economy machine running, however things are becoming to be interesting, the dip in metals could be a good indicator of what is about to come.
That's just what I was thinking. Obviously their careful vetting is insufficiently thorough. All the best, Andrew.
More likely the car does not exist and the "seller" is looking for a buyer before starting an attempted flip
They already are. Count the number of 458's for sale. Note the asking price of 599 GTO's vs six months ago. Try to sell a dealer your 458 for what you paid for it. Porsche thought they could sell 918, 918. McLaren thought they could sell 500 P1's. The FML add shows one La Ferrari owner willing to flip away at 2MM. Personally I see gold below 1000. We shall see.
