About 2 weeks ago, I was talking to PP-Performance from Germany and they mentioned they have completed the tune for the 488 already. Stage 1 gets the horsepower up 740, which is a nice improvement over stock.

Now comes the part that is shocking. Their stage 2 with a catless exhaust plus 101 octane fuel produced 915hp and 973NM of torque!! They sent a dynograph and stated they will continue to do some further testing before releasing it. The 488 is going to get very interesting with those kind of numbers.

I doubt that the traction and ssc nannies will be able to handle it. These tunes are usually a win on paper but actual mod will be a disaster on material life, warranty, drive ability and fixing costs

Yeah, because the stock car is woefully under powered and most people wil certainly be able to exploit the stock car fully on the street...NOT

Maybe add a flux capacitor and then get it up to 88mph to see what it can really do.

I have seen lots of Porsches increased 500hp and even a VW Golf with over 700hp, so far they are still running. I think 488 that runs straight faster than LaF is just as durable as stock.

To each his own ... But 915 HP? Unless you are drag racing, or seriously insecure, I just don't get it.

I don't think Ferrari left 300hp on the table from a stock 488 with just a little more boost.

I take it you have never driven a fast car?

I think it's great to see what the tuners can do! What will the 488 race bred version bring to the table?

Ferrari is developing there new V6 and at 200 hp per litre (585hp) there are already durability problems causing issues for them to resolve.
I don't think the 488 will stand up for long at 900hp...

a supra or GTR can get la Ferrari performance too.
but that is not the point, a 488 is not a LaFerrari and will never be

Isn't this a question of where we each draw our own individual lines?

I mean someone who drives a Camry might say why do you need more than the 120hp I have and why spend all that money on a sports car that has less practicality?

The answer is "because I love it" :)

there has to be lot more done to it to make that kind of power.

    calling bs.

on stock turbos maybe another 80-90hp tops and that's risky reliability.

I'd say it's possible to get a gain of 100-150hp from just a tune safely based on my experience with other similar performance cars. Torque gains could easily match hp gains. I agree, however, that a 200-300 hp gain sounds excessive.
