Guys, what's you opinion on viewing the La Jolla Concours? What other car places to visit while down in San Diego, besides Bill and Jason at Symbolic? Was thinking of getting out of Chicago weather and visiting down by you.

The La Jolla Concours is a beautiful event. I've had my Porsche on the lawn the last two years, but some very nice Italian cars there as well. I think it's $25 admission for the public (?) There's a county tour (driving event) the day before, which I haven't done but looks great if you have a vintage/classic car.

The LJ concours and the Bella Italia event done by the FOC are probably the two best "static" car events..

Coronado Festival of Speed is in September or October, and is also a must-do. Vintage racing on the tarmac at the Navy base, plus all the car clubs are present and you can walk around the paddock. It gets better every year.

The San Diego auto museum is hit or miss. If they have a special exhibit that interests you, it's worth a trip there if you're already in town, but the facility in general is pretty modest. They have had Ferrari and Porsche exhibits in the past, but check their schedule against your travel dates.

It's a lovely concours, and southern California has tons of car events to attend. Keep an eye in this California section for the upcoming events nearing that time :)
