Now $4.2 BILLION and a year behind schedule Meanwhile Raiders Stadium in Las Vegas has dropped from $1.9 B to $1.8B (still huge numbers!) https://sports.yahoo.com/rams-new-stadium-costs-pass-4-billion-double-u-s-stadium-142925213.html
Am I crazy or was there no mention of tax payer funds going to this? Did I enter a parallel universe where they aren't trying to saddle citizens with the funding for the stadium??
Overall, it'll end up say . . . 5.25 Billion. In what way will Inglewood's citizenry benefit? "I am weak-ish on snatch" ~ joker57676
In the Raiders case, $300M is coming from the Raiders/ NFL $750M is coming from hotel taxes (aka public money) with a 0.9% tax on rooms The rest is coming from the B of A in the form of loans (about $700M). In the case of Rams/ Chargers Both the NFL is throwing in $400M Kroenke (Rams owner) is throwing in $1.6B The banks are putting up the rest. But, at this rate, interest payments are going to be enormous. I don't think anyone was thinking $2B from PLS and banks.
