Hi to all, as some of you may know (especially Ton I have been on the lookout for about 18 months to buy a decent 328 GTS in Belgium. Seen several, and drove several (see previous posts...) and it seems I have come across the one I want. Test drove it yesterday and was very nice (even in this shxxxtx weather..) So, normally I will conclude the deal (and pay) next Monday !! Here some specifics: chassisnbr: ZFFWA20B000076317 Colour : Red/tan with dark brown carpeting First circulation on the road: 29/3/1988 This is a pre-ABS model but already with revised door handles. Car is original Belgian car, -garage Francorchamps- and has been with same 2 owners since beginning (car was owned under company name and driven by 2 company owners; they are switching to F430) - full service history Francorchamps until 1994; then car was stored for longer period and has been driven again in last couple of years with service history from GIPI Moteurs in Brussels (this company specializes in restoration of beautiful cars; saw a couple of Astons DB5, Mercedes Gullwing , several Ferraris etc... in their garage when I came there for the test drive) mileage: 69.900 km with last full service (including belts) done in May 2005. Car seems clean although interior could do with some clean up (especially roof and rear lining as seems to be the case in all models I saw during my quest...) missing: tool kits (will have to find a set on e-bay or somewhere else) also; trunk zipper doesn't work anymore but this would be fixed prior to sale. So, hopefully it will turn out to be a 'no surprises' car and I will be able to post some pics next week. Meanwhile, I would like to thank all the board members who gave their advice (especially Ton) and if anybody has some more info on the history of this car, always welcome ! Once I have the car, I will take it to Protech Gent for body and wheel protection - see also protechgent.be - seems to be a reputable protech dealer as they also do work for Ferrari garage Monza in Gent Cheers, Frank
Well, my congratulations in advance! That´s a very very nice car. Any chance of pics when you finally get her?
That's great! Congrats allready! Enjoy her! Since you saw and testdrove several 328's... did you also see the red/black 328 GTS that is for sale at Beerens in Antwerp? What's your opinion on that one? And of course, also looking forward to see the pics Greets, Alexander
Congrats Frank!! Have lots of fun with her. Hope we will meet you during one the Ferrari events this year.
CONGRATULATION FRANK & a very warm welcome in the F drivers group Well done and we are waiting for the first pics from a beautiful 328 and its proud new owner. Wolfgang
As far as I am concerned, F driver means Ford driver for me at the moment... Ferrari being just a sweet memory. Welcome in the club, 328 rules. Ciao Eugenio
LOL; Eugenio sounds like its realy time now to move back to Italy!!!!!!! F = Ford.....tzzzzz, have you lost all your italian blood over there in Manila?
No, it is simply impossible even to think about driving an F(errari) car here. I have met just one guy owning one: he only drives it inside the village. What a waste. Ciao Eugenio
Eugenio, do you want me to send you some DVD/VHS Ferrari-Hardcore-Porns to surrive this misery? Please advice me and its my pleasure to help my friend out in the sticks
ROTFLMAO, Damn, how old are you that you know this vintage porn? - ages ago.... Anyway, believe Eugenio needs a Ferrar-Driving Video to get a stiffy down under in Manila
you dont wanna know (i.e. driving in a F group on some empty country roads....very fast, driving on the empty autobahn on a early sunday moring f***** fast, all together: 12 months lost of licence and 1 year jail )
Yes, DVD Thanks Eugenio Dalla Rosa 101 Palosapis Corner 103 Ipil Ipil Ayala Alabang Village 1780 Muntinlupa Metro Manila Philippines You allways know how to help a friend. Ciao Eugenio
Frank, That is great news!!!!! Congratulations! Let's try to meet as soon as we both have our cars. I can't wait to see your new toy. Welcome to the club!
Ok, it's a she; I got it... Yes Ton, will let you know when I have HER... Alexander, Car at Beerens has been for sale quite a while; first saw HER at the garage in St. Niklaas where she was undergoing 'surgery' at the expense of about 6,000 Euro. Then owner took her back in June 2005 and wanted to sell it for 38.000 Euro. Probably couldn't get his price and gave it to Beerens for sale (had a look at it recently) However, after having spoken to people at garage where she had been reviewed, they explained that she was not in such a terrific state (oil leak, some rust etc...) and also no history car is now for sale at 34.000...... would recommend thorough PPI at Ferrari Antwerp ! Will keep in touch once I have pictures of HER... btw, price I will be paying is 38.000 Euro; not cheap but I estimate that history and maintenance is worth something more... Ciao Frank
Frank, thank's a lot for the extra valuable info on the 328 at Beerens. I've seen the car listed quite a while on Autoscout indeed. Intresting to know that the car was "prepared" at "High Performance" in Nieuwkerken/Sint-Niklaas, not that far from my home However, I have an illusion less again For the second time in a month I was blinded by an online-ad that was too good to be true Reading the attached description made me think it could be a great deal... but off course, in an ad they always enlighten the bright sides... Another reason that still scares me about a Ferrari purchase for now... You have to be so damn' careful when buying a second hand car, even more so when it's a Ferrari... I can only hope that, when I finally have the guts to seriously start my hunt, I will see the snake pits before I fall...
