Yeah, I'm not buying it, the electricity posts, the whole surroundings definitely don't make it seem he was doing that speed. Specially the car and the truck where he is going at 3 something, almost 200 mph, they must have been both doing 150 plus mph, which is quite improbable specially for the truck.

Looking at the display also something seems off, dunno

In the brave new world of google and gps :) the distance between landmarks (road signs, bridges, buildings, etc) on the video can be readily measured. Based on elapsed time between those landmarks on the video, true speed is easily calculated.

Not necessarily Joe, but it is quite scary to see how the value drops as miles accrue at 200+ mph. Maybe though he has a dealer who can help him 'massage' those miles a bit prior to the next owner:)

    I was posing a rhetorical question ;)

However, stereotyping & assumptions aside, for purposes of clarification, just because a LaFerrari isn't used for an exhibition of automotive stupidity @ 231 mph (if in fact the video you posted is real) on public roads does not mean it is a garage queen, also, none of the LaFerrari owners I know are too fazed about accumulation of miles or their subsequent impact upon values, they simply enjoy the car whenever their busy schedule allows.

...and based on your post, were you able to calculate the accuracy of the 231mph?

Lighten up guys. If I remember correctly, I've seen someone on this site redline their tailor made F12TdF at terminal velocity and post the data except the odometer on the car was under 400 miles! I would not disregard an LaF if the owner tested out the max speed. I would rather expect it. But it probably did go right back into the garage.

Incredibly stupid from the owner (?) to post this video.
If you want to help environmental or road safety groups (filming via cell phone) in establishing a mandatory speed limit on the autobahn, this is certainly the right way to go!
The attention grabbing headline „372 kph during corona lockdown“ has been in some major Germany newspapers already. And not many people think it is cool to read such news about a 2m supercar while sitting in their apartments, bored they cannot do anything.

Sometimes it just takes one event like this (remember the AC Cobra doing 185 mph in 1964, shortly after the UK introduced the 70 mph limit which still stands)

So, by all means, we all want to enjoy our cars and for a long time to come, sometimes driving rather brisk :).
But I do not think it is a great time to unnecessarily provoque action from environmentalists, road safety warriors etc.

Now, I do not think many of the latter are here on FC.
But I would ask the moderators to maybe take down the video, and hope that this video will not be distributed too much any more
Arguing against a mandatory limit is just so much harder when someone shows you this video of a careless driver maxing out the car while filming it with one hand. Really does not do much for us enthusiasts.

I am totally with you here - I just want to enjoy our speed-limit free Autobahns in the future as well :). Since you live in Switzerland ?), I think you can relate to that...So, can we agree on "Live free (but don't post this on the internet) or die?" If I had that car at my disposal - would I have resisted to max it out on an empty stretch? Rather not.... but I would have resisted posting it, except maybe for a very select group.

Below is what I would have liked to have avoided

    https://www.bild.de/news/inland/news-inland/a7-ferrari-raser-donnert-mit-372-km-h-ueber-leere-autobahn-und-filmt-dabei-70171802.bild.html

Translation: Speeding Ferrari thunders down the empty Autobahn with 372 and films doing that
He steers with one hand and films with the other

In the article itself the words reckless, suicidal etc. are mentioned.

Bild Zeitung is not famous for very sophisticated content, but has most readers in Germany.

In Germany it is not allowed to use a mobile phone while driving. Doing that anyway and then at this speed and steering with one hand is extremely ruthless. I like to drive fast myself - but what was done here is highly criminal.

    I think the S/N is 210418.
I also think the guy did not keep the camera in his right hand during the driving but rather had it hung on a cord around his neck/body, or similar.
