Gotta test the limits! You don't know the limit until you cross it.

My first thought as well. Better cover it up before we fish it out of the gravel!

It looks to me like a LOT of smoke was coming out of it BEFORE it left the track.

Brake failure. That's why it went off the track.

White smoke from rear …coolant loss from the engine compartment maybe?

With a highly concentrated KERS system housed in the engine compartment, heat management is more of a challenge than ever. I am glad they are working the "bugs" out of the system in LaFerrari. Hopefully it will be reliable by the time the 458 replacement comes along.

Isn't it clear that it locked up the brakes? You can hear the tires screeching as soon as the smoke hits and see two very clear black stripes going off the track in the last photo.

Driver is driving too fast for LaFerrari to enter the corner. Brakes lock up before turning and weight shift to much to soon to front. For sure a less experience driver. Maybe a lucky first customer? I think this is number one turn after the long Fiorano straight.

You forgot a little thing called Antilock Braking System (ABS). It is clearly a brake failure.

If it's like any other Ferrari product, it will still be in development even after it's produced.

All cars are like that. That is the reason that early cars have more problems than later ones in their life cycle.

Escuse me, a brake failure? These are not already developed Brembo brakes on the carbon ceramic discs? It is not good feeling inside your stomach when you have brake failure, many terrible consequences can happen to your life. I have never hear about brake failure at this (late?) stage of development. ABS is with cars since many years, now it fail? Maybe the hibrid system is responsible, so complicated electronics can effect everything. My belief is the electronic technology cause a lock up to the gas pedal, the brake pedal, the gearbox, the steer wheel, the crankshaft (and everything conected to the crankshaft) and rear spoiler. Watch the video again, I see total freaked out situation. O o.

Last Sunday Kimi Raikkonen had a DNF in Spa because of a failed disk. Brake failure in an F1 car!!! Anything can fail.
