    Great post @Enzo Belair

Do you have any insight regarding how Ferrari is positioning the F250? It seems to me based on the comments and photos that it will be a very focused motorsport inspired car. Will it offer luggage space and an acceptable degree of refinement for rallies and road trips?

Hi. I am sorry to say, I have zero information on the car. Only what I see here. But it's exciting to imagine all it can and will be. I have enjoyed all the speculation in this thread, I will miss the anticipation once the car launches.

Again- the market disagrees with you on all of these points. Those who actually care about tracking have actual race cars, those who do not and occasionally track their hypers are not that serious about track time. Its really that simple.

Look at the annual mileage of Ferrari hypercars in general , it’s nuts to disagree that they are used as occasional/ weekend cars imo

Lots of conflicting opinions, one side saying lap times are irrelevant as owners don’t track their cars, others saying Ferrari hypercars should represent peak track performance.

There have been plenty of impractical hypercars which trade for good money like the clk gtr etc

Folks talk a lot about track cars and race cars. Its not racing when either is just going around a track with a bunch of other cars pretending to be competing. Racing is placing your life on the line for a worthless piece of plastic. And loving it.

I don't disagree with your point at all- but of those limited miles, only a small fraction is on track as an infrequent novelty.

Re: the CLK GTR (and others in that class), the provenance of homologation and extremely limited numbers (~30m) adds to that substantially. If they were produced in similar numbers, they would be less expensive than an enzo. Usability is why the Valkerie was immediately selling below MSRP after delivery. Balance is key.

Do you think that if Ferrari offered a comfort package for their hypercars with additional padding for their seats / higher suspension etc then it would trade as a premium ? I was always under the impression of the reverse trend tbh - the more hardcore cars trade higher

I don’t consider racing putting your life on the line, that is overly dramatic. I have done well over 100 races, yes, me and my Challenge cars have been hit and I spend one night in the hospital, I never was concerned about getting killed, modern race cars, especially, Ferrari to a good job of keeping us safe.

I was referring to all motorsport racing and not necessarily cars. I raced AMA motocross amateurs for well over a decade and personally saw 2 racers die. So many flown out in helicopter. Will not go into all my own injuries, ambulance rides, and surgeries but not being dramatic. The stable condition for a motorcycle is on its side. Maybe car racing is a piece of cake. If so, I've just lost a lot of respect for the sport. :(

Hope the styling on the F250 is better than the AMG one, IMHO I think the AMG is unattractive. I know it's driven by aero and efficiency, but it's still not a good looking car. Lets see if Ferrari can capture all the performance they need with better styling.

During the recent media event for the 12Cilindri, Ferrari wouldn't quote lap times at Fiorano against the 812, other than ambiguously referring to it being faster than its predecessor.

The SF90XX has less quoted downforce than a 992 GT3 RS, despite arguably being in a class above and marketed heavily as a road going XX car. This reflects in lap times. Why hasn't the Sport Auto Super test of the car (SF90XX) been posted yet, many months after the car was there?

I suspect Ferrari will lean heavily into technology transfer from 499P (2x Le Mans victories) and F1 (brand value) for F250 - and not lap time metrics unless it's a large enough leap from SF90XX. The car will probably be sent off as the "ultimate Ferrari technology transfer from motorsport to road going vehicle", simply because anything but a Fiorano time is benchmarked easily against the other hypercars that more track focused than the F250. Also, in big difference to other brands, this car is a "gift" to the innermost circle of best clients - no other large scale manufacturer has the client base for such an effortless order book. I am pretty sure even McLaren will have to churn at their senior sales level to sell out the W1 within time to market it as sold out for the sake of optics.

Ok, I rode motorcycles a lot when I was young and had no fear. As I am older, I understand what it’s like to get hurt and understand how precious life is. So I don’t ride motorcycles anymore, those guys who race them are crazy, yes, they are risking their lives, AGREED

The successor? It's a road car. Period. All that "race car for the street" nonsense? It's just that—marketing hype at its finest folks.

Now, I can't sit here and speak on the Valakrie or the One—I ain't had the pleasure of driving them—but let me be clear: when it comes this next 'hypercar?' it's a street car.

Anybody that seriously thinks they're 'race' cars for the street are the same folks that say the cotton fibers in the $1,000 Ferrari shirts use some special 'manufacturing.' - I know they're poseurs; Actual folks who are involved with race/track cars are nodding at what I'm talking about.

The most important question is why would anyone in their right mind want a 'race/track' car around the street anyway? Some hardcore sadomasochists right there.

Ferrari knows exactly what they're doing with the dynamics of this one.

    ***

If folks gonna sit there and tell me that today's technology lets you hit lap times that beat OLD ‘track only’ cars from back in the day, sure, but that’s like me saying my brand-new HondaJet can outrun a Piper, so it's a F35 for the everyman, fast track for me to be laughed out the room by real fighter pilots.

That's the problem with a lot of these 'experts' - GranTurismo 7, YouTube, and Car and Driver magazine is the closest they ever got to hours of real neckbreaking Gs in real race cars.
