It is my understanding, from a very good source, that Ferrari specifically requested each person who recieved a key to keep it completely confidential. I find it both unfortunate and somewhat sad that so many find it necessary to show off their good fortune and ignore such a request from the manufacturer. Whatever this key is to, will be known soon enough and the anticipation is also part of the pleasure for all who are passionate about the brand.
True. Plus the info shared has given us precisely no new news outside of the trivial key in a box invite. I don't see the problem at all. In fact quite the opposite - these trivial 'leaks' have only served to drum up interest and excitement. That's a good thing surely?!
If Ferrari wanted secrecy they would have told selected owners they will lose their slot immediately if traced. The silence would have been deafening. By asking for secrecy they knew it would encourage precisely the opposite. The last thing Ferrari want is silence, and rightly so, they sell a dream and the stuff spread over social media is pure Gold, and free
I totally agree. And all I see in these posts and pics is happiness, at least to me it doesn't seem, that someone is showing off their good fortune.... Don't worry Chalstrad, everyone already undesrtood, that you will have a Spyder too By the way I have saw Josh Cartu's F12 TDF in front of the factory yesterday and I have no doubt why is he here for
I asked this question when I met a factory regional manager a few years ago and yes they do look at the forum or so he told me.
This ^ I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari even hinted to purchasers that they have no problem with people showing the key/box as long as no mention is made of what it's for. So far nobody has.
Of course thats what Ferrari want - its all about marketing and hype Its like these "spy" shots of cars that appear. Do you really think some random photographer sees these cars on some random bit of road/car park - they are all taken by the company and leaked

If your fortunate and lucky enough to get one, good for you. If you own a LaFerrari and didn't receive the box, well you still own the best, but not the rarest anymore. Can't wait for a LaFerrari Speciale and a LaFerrari SA.
Not agreeing with this part. At least Ferrari they don't leak spy shots, they are genuine. Happens that there's so many photographers around Maranello that every single mule or test car outside the factory gets pictured. Couldn't say about all other manufacturers but I'm a good 30 years into this interest and this is the first time I read suggestion that spy photos could be leaked by manufacturers.
That doesn't seem like a LF Spider to me. Where is the pointy nose and the long mirror arms? I could be mistaken of course...
Maybe they will release the spyder model and the anniversary model at the same time? Really doubtfull.. Logically this is the spyder model..

the rear half roof line is definitely more lafe than 488. the front is indeed shorter than lafe and the long side mirror is missing. i wonder if the 70th model would be anything more powerful than a lafe consider it is a special occasion. another way to look at it is that the 70th car is developed upon lafe that has an open top as well, and it will be called something else, and look quite different from the standard lafe.
