this was posted on L a m b o Power by a member, and i never saw it on Ferrari Chat. its a parade video showing the turn out for a fallen Soldier being laid to rest. its shot from inside one of the Police vehicles, and work / family safe.

i wanted to add i live in Georgia and had not heard of this, but i dont watch tv or keep up with the news much.

i found it moving and wanted to share it. i hope it is not in bad taste to copy something like this from another site.

    From another source,

Killed in action this week, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia.

A simple notice in the local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

IF you feel like having your faith in people restored, watch away.

    Your eyes might get dusty

Rest in Peace Soldier, and thank you. :crybaby2:

There was something similar last year in the small town where I live. A young specialist was killed in Afghanistan and the town turned out for his funeral. It was about 2 miles from the funeral home to the cemetary and the entire route was lined on both sides. Turnout was estimated at 3000, for a town of 10,000 on a weekday. They named a section of road for him last month.

Having lost a few relatives and friends who served this country and gave the highest honor, I lasted until 1:26 of the tape. Staff Sergent Beale, thank you for allowing me to sit and type this without fear or regard of safety because of what you and your fellow servicemen do everyday without complaint. You are now in a better place, one that we all will join you with someday.

    Very touching and sad.

Seeing the billboard, then the sign that read: "Freedom isn't free. We honor you SSGT John Beale"... choked me up hard.

I probably can't watch the video, as I lost a childhood friend in December 2007.

My friend, 1st Lt. Jeremy E. Ray was killed by a suicide bomber while handing out toys to kids in Iraq (Baghdad I believe). We grew up in a small community just outside of Houston known as Jersey Village. When I pulled into the neighborhood there were two fire trucks (he was a volunteer) with ladders erect with the American flag hanging between, as well as the Patriot Guard motorcyclists there to make sure no protestors show up to interfere.

During the procession, the amount of people who pulled over on the side of the road to salute him as we passed was mind boggling. It brings a tear to my eye now.

Sorry to take away from your thread. Just got me thinking.
