The 430 won the first race and would have won the second but it was balked and is in 1st place (Points)

The GT3 Gallardo and the Maser Grand Sport Light have been asked to attempt to bring their performance up to the level of the rest. (Ferrari 430, Porsche GT3 Cup, Aston DBRS9, Dodge Viper and Corvette)

"The Bureau (FIA) has done all it can," (To equalize performance)

"It can't bring the others down to their level, so they must do something to increase their performance."

Maybe Ferrari should unplug a few spark plug wires to even things out with the L car. Poor Lambo never has been able to be competitive in any racing attempts, guess all those years of racing experience Ferrari has do amount to something.

Are any of these races televised here in the States? I'd love to watch these races as these are the cars I'm most interested in. Thanks for the recap Napolis.

they'll post an excuse why the G is uncompetitive, then recite magazine tests.

Didn't the Ferrari driver read the mag tests, he's not supposed to win.

Looks like the Lambo retired on lap 51 at the 1000 Km of Spa this weekend. It didn't race at Istanbul in the first race for the LMES series. GT1 this weekend was Aston, 550, Aston.

The JLOC have a Lambo entered at Le Mans - should be interesting. Just got our Le Mans tickets via UPS today - gonna be a great race.

The Murcielago GT attempt was woeful a few years back. Did they ever find any success or just scrap the whole idea?

Hi Napolis - Thanks! Will definitely do that. Can't wait to see the R10 - it's suppose to be extremely quiet - the R8 in Houston last Saturday was very definitely quiet and didn't appear to be going as fast as it really was - can only imagine how the R10 will be.

I wonder if there's two Lambos out there in endurance racing - guess I need to go back and check the LMES entries as I thought the LMES one is run by a group out of Germany whereas the one at Le Mans is run by the Japan Lambo Owners Club - wonder which of the colorful Lambo colors the car might be??

    Have a great day.

    Hi

From what I understand the German team is running the GT3 G's and the Le Mans RGT M but this may have changed. Very weird that Audi doesn't seem to care about Lambo racing.

As a Lambo owner, I'd love to see more of a factory effort, but it is what it is. I won't make excuses, but will support the Reiter Engineering Team in their track efforts because Lambo or Audi doesn't seem to care, nor did Ferrucio for that matter.

I fully understand Ferrucio not getting involved with racing but Audi is strange IMO. They have shown they can dominate and they (VAG) own Lambo. Lambo finishing 51 at Spa or being so slow that the FIA complains
can't help Lambo's image. Why don't put some $ into Lambo racing and kick some ass is beyond me. IMO I think this money would boost Lambo sales and whether or not Audi Racing helps Audi sales isn't so clear to me.

First post here, generally a lambo fan but appreaciate ferraris too.

As far as Lambo not being competitive right away in racing, I think its important to look at it from a business standpoint. Lambo only just turned a profit last year for the first time in the history of the company, it means that something is finally being done right other than just the cars.

It also means you calculate every step from here on out very carefully to maintain that profitability. I would imagine Audi's first and foremost goal with lambo is to get it to the point where it could be a company on its own much like ferrari could be a company on its own.

As fo the racing it takes time to develop a really good racing program and indeed culture, such as ferrari's or porshe's or even audi's. All this has to be cultivated from within Lamborghini.

Its the reason why Ferrari can bring out a brand spanking new car and still dominate, or Porche can enter a class it hasnt been for years (LMP2) and be competetive, they have that as part of their identity.

Until then I fully support Reiter engineering (Muri RGT, Gallardo GT3) and I believe it's Raeder Tuning (Gallardo LM) in their efforts.

I too support anyone who goes racing and I agree that Audi/ Ferrari/Porsche/Aston/and Corvette have motor racing as part of their heritage and Lambo doesn't but the parent of Aston and Corvette are in much worse shape $ wise and they realize that winning on Sunday still sells cars on Monday.

Lambo has a small operating profit but unless it doubles it's sales it will never have a net profit and the investment in plant and development will be lost forever as well as any interest that capital could have earned or return that investment could have made for Audi/VAG and IMO having a racing program that is laughable isn't going to help raise Lambo sales to the level of 5K unit per year.

Lambo makes great cars and IMO if they really provided customer service, reliable cars and won a race every once and a while they could be a contender.

Back on track. Anyone gonna beat those R 10's?

    My prediction at Le Mans

    R 10 LM 1
    P LM 2
    Corvette GT 1
    P GT 2
    P GT 3

And they never will as long as Reiter hangs on to those pictures of the Lambo CEO in the farmyard orgy. That's the only way I can figure out why they keep giving him the job.

The Murcielago was dropped after a string of disappointing runs and despite some talented heads working on the project.

Which F430 ? The GT2 or the GT3 ? The GT3 is basically a challenge car whereas the GT2 is the ALMS/FIA GT race car that replaced the 360 NGT/GTC ..

Lambo (Audi) probably realizes how can you compete with 50 years of successful racing history that Ferrari has from sports cars to F1, a legend larger than life, entering racing now is a little late but it may help some if they win, if they don't it shows they were right in never attempting to build race cars in the first place.
