Hi, I'm a Lambo owner but I'm looking at buying a 458 possibly. What do I need to check for regarding the clutch and usage? In the Lambo world, a clutch can get you 20-40k miles depending on how you are on it. I saw a 458 with 27k miles on it. Should I stay away from that one?

Should I stay away from 2010 models? What changes are necessary to look at when considering older models?

Any ecu software and exhaust upgrades to wake the motor up a little more? Putting it at the 600hp mark should keep it current with all the new cars that are out right now.

Last, to those who just say "search the site", I am gonna do a ton of usage on the search engine, but felt it would be helpful to do both searching and asking simultaneously.

    Thanks.

As far as clutches go......look at a 458 basically the same way as the Huracan in that the Gallardo had clutch issue but Huracan has fixed with double clutch.

Ferrari had clutch issues with 430 but fixed also when double clutch came on for 458.

That's the easiest way I can explain by putting it back into your Lambo world.

No issues with 2010+. These cars have been so damn reliable and bulletproof unlike prior gen. 12+ gets 7 year maintenance. And some SW upgrades.

$200k gets you a nice car. It's no Huracan but it drives better and is a world beater.

Pony up $250 and get a spider.

I have become addicted to the rev counter LEDs in the steering wheel. Can't imagine a high performance sports car without them. Be sure to get your Fcar with this option.*

*this can be turned off but it would be like taking a shower with your clothes on IMVHO.

Right on target. As for spider vs Italia, each to his own. I love the solidity of the coupe.

As others have noted, you do not need to worry so much about the clutch pack, we have yet to replace one due to wear...

I'd also add, that you can add a year to year Ferrari backed warranty to whichever 458 you end up choosing. PM me when you get to that point, I'll send you any information you need!

    Good Luck in your search.

    Steve

p.s. We have a Lamborghini colored 458 Spider for you ...
