Lambo on Top Gear (Discovery Channel) now!

Jay Kay's Miura SV would look very, very good in my garage ....

 

They were entirely too harsh on the Countach..

 

They should just call it "Top Ferrari". Clarkson does not seem to think there is a better car out there. They should sack him and find someone less narrow minded. Every time you think he is going to say a car is great, he breaks out with "But the Ferrari XYZ is so much better"

 

I think he likes the Bugatti Veyron more than he does Ferraris.

 

Agreed, the Countach got slammed in that episode........... It was still enjoyable to watch it tear up the roads though.......

 

They compared an Austin Martin to a 575 and declared the AM the winner, even though the 575 beat it at every test.

 

...uh....it's 'Aston'.....!!

 

I did not understand that either?!

 

They said they liked the car more. They admitted the 575 was a better car overall (as far as handling, acceleration etc etc). Just that they thought the Vanquish had more 'character' and that they liked the looks of it more.

Top Gear isn't a show to watch for pure hard facts and scientifically controlled races blah blah blah. Its just about fun and the personality of the reviewers. They have a ton of episodes where they have their 3 main reviewers trying to pick the best car out of 3-5 cars, and afterwards they usually just sit around and argue cause none of them can agree on anything.

 

I'm going to be shot for saying this but I would take the AM over the 575. I just think it looks way better.

 

I would too. Nothing against the 575 though, I love that car.

The Countach segment had a carb'd version, the noise was there! Loved watching that car!

All he did was gripe about impractical it was, c'mon, the car is over 20 years old. "I'm feeling a bit warm in here, the window is only a tiny slit"...."You need a hammer to shift gears, and as for the clutch, the assist of a friend standing on the pedal is in order...I can't see out the rear, there's an alarming smell of gas.." Then Clarkson had to show the lad how to reverse a Countach.


I was floored during the Aston segment, the machine would not let him shift down on the turn when he wanted it. However, as he put it bluntly;

 

what i didn't get was why he praised the Gallardo then at the end said "it's still not a Ferrari". what's up?

 

He was paying homage to the Ferrari "mystique".

 

Dude, the show is Clarkson. If u dont like him dont watch it. He makes the show entertaining to watch, I have seen some american car shows and they bore me to tears. If you think he has a Ferrari bias, wait till you see a show about any Aston Martin...

Watch it for entertainment dont watch it for accurate review of cars. Ohh the Lambo episode was 1st aired in 2003 hahaha.
