Single clutch is more reliable at high HP launches. That's a really nice find on the front end! Glad they also tried to hide the sad taillights of current Aventador. From the side it always reminded me a... sad cockroach. Glad it changes.
really? Porsche pdk did a media test with crazy number of straight sub 3 sec launches in tts without fail maybe over 100 in row but I don't remember
Anyway, there are few things to keep in mind. A DCT would be heavier. Aventador as a classic RMR Lambo has got the gearbox basically in the center of the car, and you have a driver and a passenger almost huggin it, so the space is very limited.
I've been cross-breeding some cars and the famed Veyron actually is successor to EB110, which in turn is a 100% Lamborghini layout, but higher sophisticated mechanically. The EB110 was a brain child of Italy, the last car Ferruccio Lamborghini took part in, so it has the gearbox in the center like Countach, but with AWD - say, Diablo VT. When VW acquired Bugatti, they asked Ricardo (engineering company from the UK) to reverse engineer the chassis and stick into it a scaled DSG transmission from VW Golf. That's what they say by themselves! Haha! (I mean, the close relation to VW Golf) Actually, it took about 2 years at Ricardo to reverse engineer what was already done by the Italian Bugatti engineers. So in the end I mean it's probably possible to put a DCT in an Aventador. But being lighter it might chew up its higher priced fellow Bugatti as well.
