(Statutory Off Road Notification). What this means is if the vehicle is not taxed for road use, you have to declare SORN to tell the UK government that you still have the car but will not use it on the road e.g. maybe car is being restored etc. It was an attempt to try and stop untaxed cars being used on the road. So total fleet in the UK is Taxed + SORN. hope this helps?

Statutory Off Road Notification. It means the cars are reg'd, but not used on the road.

In California we have a "non op" registration that does pretty much the same thing it sounds, more revenue generation...and if you dont file one and dont register a car during a restoration, or storage..the penalties are expensive..

I have been told that we only have about 55 countachs left in the UK!
I know from speaking to some specialists in the older cars that they have sold a lot to Australia in particular.

Would be nice if lots came to my Italian Car and Bike day on the 14th August and showed their face again! ( cheap plug! lol)

    Hi Paul,

    Not that many in Australia.

I only know of one coming in recently...and it was a while before that one.

So where have they gone? An old classic car magazine circa 2000 suggested there were approx 200 Countach's left in the uk.
